I have to say that "Alexa" is better at recognizing than "Hey, Google Home". However, there is not much that it can do than google home. The device looks nice in the living room and is fun to play songs and stuffs using it. We have connected few smart things (plugs, bulbs and TV) but we normally use google home mini than this one. When google mini does not hear us then Alexa works like a charm.

Use my dot for everything around my house. Or use used for my vacuum and light and is such a great small device that is modern

Bought as a gift. If you already have an Alexa in your home, might as well add more to cover your house as one is not enough. Having multiple of these already, it's helpful to have in most rooms to be able to play music or ask it to perform specific actions.

This came free with the TV we purchased on Black Friday. I didn't feel the need to spend money on any of these smart accessories (Echo Dot, Google Home, etc.). It was always a nice-to-have not a need-to-have in my book. But when you get it for free, of course, you can't pass it up. Now that we have it hooked up to the new smart TV, it's definitely made life easy.

I really like my echo I just hate whenever your talking about Alexa to someone it activates her and she starts to listen but that is how all assistants are. You can change the awake word to computer or echo to eleviate this but I prefer to say Alexa. Main thing if your looking to purchase this for your smart home, be sure to know if your smart devices are compatible with Amazon Echo because some devices are only compatible with Google Nest and vice versa. If you have a Ring Video Doorbell or alarm system this is a must and most of the time it comes free with a Ring purchase.

Easy to use, easy to set up, you will need internet and either an amazon account or you will have to create a free account. Love this. Alexa had changed our lives! We use her to play music, keep a shopping list, tell us the weather, tell us the time. We set routines with smart lamps, plugs, and lights, which are so handy! Love it

great sound, easy to set up and connect, fun for the whole family

The basics work pretty eady out of the box. Like anything else, getting all the fancy stuff working takes a little effort. Once it is set, it is quite easy to use. Can turn lights on and off and make phone calls. It is linked with my phone, so my wife can't call her contacts from her phone. Trying to see how to use a second phone now. Small and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb in the room.

Working great 3 years later. Prices are reasonable. The people that work there are very knowledgeable! I like the fact that the shelves are stocked there's an assortment of things to pick from.

Superb sound quality for such a small device. I originally bought one of there to see what all the hype was about. I love them and have a few in my house. I am constantly asking it to give me local weather updates, use it as an alarm clock, and listen to music. I even use it to make a phone call on occasions.

I prefer the new ball shaped Echo Dot to this one, but I have found these useful for less used areas of the house. I recently put on in my bathroom to use as a speaker for music while showering and it works perfectly. The sound quality is good enough for how inexpensive these things are now.

It serves my purpose wonderfully. I don't have to get up to turn the lights off or on. Also it answers questions and plays music. That is the main reason I wanted it. So it is great
