    The Echo Dot is nice however there aren't any safeguards for a child to accidentally place an order. Plus sometimes Alexa will start talking from nowhere. If you can get past that, then you'll enjoy it. Makes a great gift too!!

    We were given a google mini for Christmas, and were not impressed. I unplugged it after a few months because of the news coverage about them randomly listening in. May give this as a gift, it looks better than the google. This was free with a Ring camera purchase.

    I have multiple of these Echo Dots in different rooms of the house. Very handy for making announcements (dinner is ready; you have a phone call) to the family even when I am not sure which room they are in. Great for calling down to the basement too. I like the feature where the light ring around the dot let’s you know you have a notification (line of a delivery) without making a sound.
