Plays music for me, tells me jokes, plays games with the kids, gives me the latest news, recipes, I’m 67 years old, I keep her on my nightstand and it makes me feel safe in case I can’t get to my phone, Alexa will make a call for me or drop in on one of my kids so I can talk to them, also she guards my house when I leave, I love it

for the price this is really good and i don't have any specific complaints, but in order to use it you need an app. the app takes up a lot of space and its really hard to use. there are also a lot of additional fees that come with this device

This third Echo Dot is intuitive, it can certainly do a lot and there's lots of potential. I purchased two smart plugs, synched them to the dot, and boom! Bedroom lights are on with a short command. There are LOTS of other uses but not many ideas are included in the box - why Amazon doesn't offer an extensive list upon purchase is strange; instead, they continually add more ideas over a period of time which I'm not a fan of, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Sound quality could be a little bit better, so I gave it a "good" instead of excellent on the quality.

This generation echo still works great. The device easily picks up a soft voice from across a modest size room. Still prefer this shape and form to newer generations.

I got this as a bonus when purchasing another item. It is fun to use. I can ask it questions like what is the weather, or what time is it if I’m too busy to look up the information direction. I use it to listen to my radio station or a particular artist, place orders on Amazon, play Jeopardy, and many other things. It’s just a fun, little device!

Works great. Work well with other smart devices. Loud speaker. Easy setup.

Echo dot smart speaker is great for listening to music as well as the multitude of other things you can use it for. We use it to control a few things around the house, as well as setting timers and reminders and answering questions. Never have had any problems with it, works except when we have WiFi issues, of course. Amazing little gadget.

Dot is a great speaker to have in smaller areas, like the bathroom. So easy to tell Alexa what you want to hear while in the shower. having the mount to attach it to the wall by the outlet is awesome as well.

Turn on the lights!… or off. Order food. Play music. Learn a word. What’s the weather like tomorrow? I love my dot, and for the price, it can’t be beat! Do yourself the favor and get yourself one. It’s the convenience you’ve always needed and not known.

I love my Echos. I have 8 of them. I use them to stream music through out my house and garages. Two of them are hard wired or blue toothed to stereo receivers. These receivers run my whole house stereo systems in my house and main garage. They also make it easy to make shopping lists and get information anywhere in my house.

You know what you’re getting if you’re looking at this product. This iteration provides a better aesthetic than previous versions. The sound quality seems to be improved as well (although that may just be the placebo effect kicking in).

good smart speaker with quality sound for $40 + tax

Bought 2 of these. One for a birthday gift to my 100yr old grandma. Added amazon music unlimited to it and this has got to be one of the best gifts ever. She ask alexa to play a lot of old songs from years past and ask it question about all kinds of things. Wish I would have thought of this gift for her years ago.

I got it on a really good deal at Best Buy. It was very easy to set up and I have enjoyed and used it more than I really thought I would. The hands free operation is so very nice. I find myself asking Alexa more and more to play music, the time, make phone calls, etc. The sound quality is amazing. I was so impressed with it, I ordered a second one.
