A great starter smart home device

I will say this was my first 3rd gen Dot, and you can definitely tell a difference. The addition of the fabric cover makes it feel like a more upscale product. I also feel like the sound quality is a bit better than the 2nd gen, but that's not saying much. It's still nothing to write home about. Another difference is in the plug-in. My 2nd gen Dots came with what was essentially a wall adapter (like you'd get with a cell phone or tablet) with a micro-USB cable. This has been changed to a more traditional "wall wart" type plug for the 3rd gen.
