the one thing i like about the gen 3 of this item is, the sound and the performance of the speakers.

First, don't pay full retail for them. They go on sale all the time with steep discounts that only Amazon controls. At the low price they are great value. This one does both 2.4G and 5G wireless and connects easily and fast.

The dot is a great way to start your venture I to smarthome or a cheap way to add to it. The 3rd gen has greatly improved audio over the 2nd gen dot to the point it's usuable as a music speaker either by itself in a small room or paired in stereo with another.

It's ok typical Amazon Alexa speaker. No problems.

My husband said he bought this so I would have something else to boss around besides just him. So far, its worked out well for both of us. Alexa is a trooper and does what she's told.

This was a gift to a person who said "they have no use for this tech". They now use it daily and have changed their opinion... The entire line of Amazon products is well worth ones time. The new pods have better sound and they seem to "listen" better.

This is our 4th Alexa. She lives in the kitchen and complements her friend in our bedroom. She is great when it comes to cooking, giving us accurate timing just by asking. She is much better than our old timer and does the weather too.

These are so fun and convenient to have. I bought one for a friend for Christmas. She loves it! They are scattered all over the house in different rooms. Great for communication and announcements, among other wonderful things Alexa can do.

Works well. Sometimes doesn't understand me. Took a very long time to ship.

The 3rd generation speaker is a lot better, it's louder and l looks better then the 2nd generation.

Some people might like this type of devices but I will not be using yet another spying device in my home. Received it as a gift.

I only use it to play music, does alot more. I do wonder if its listening to everything I say.
