    The echo dot 3rd generation is very convenient. The speaker is not the greatest for music. I understand that it is an improvement over 2nd generation. But it works great if paired with a speaker.

    This was the 3 rd one I own,,,got others a year n 2 ago..So a new model last 3 years.. They worked fine for a few weeks, then the speakers for music got raspy,, then all my ring doorbell features quit working.,even tho it sz all working right,,Nope! .. . I unplugged them all back in a box and in the shed,, all 3 went bad lucky I got all 3 free hate to lose money on them ,plus I do believe they spy on you.. So Adios Alexa
