Love Alexa! Great functions! Purchase for my mom after buying mine. Love to ask her to set reminders and timers! Also love the routine set for my lights!

I have 10 of these throughout the house. They are great and mostly used to talk to other family members that are in other parts of the house and to announce things like "I'm on my way home from the grocery store please come out and help".

Echo dot is easy to use and very simple device, the sound is okay but it does most of the things other higher level echo devices. If you just want to have an Alexa command device with decent sound, it should work out just fine.

I already owned 2 other echos and am so glad to have a 3rd one. I love that I can connect this to my firetv and my other 2 echos and have music play in surround sound all over my home!

Easy to use and navigate. I bought two as Christmas presents for my grown children after they came over and throughly enjoyed asking Alexia to do things. My husband has set it up to control the lights and Christmas tree.

Never knew what we were missing till we got 3 of these. Can control smart lights, play music, set timers, ask questions, so useful. One in bedroom, one in kitchen, one in living room.

The echo dot is super handy, it’s great for setting alarms to playing music and listening to my podcasts. I give it a 10/10 because it has so many uses that I am continually finding out. The sales price made it even better.

Personally, I am fairly deeply immersed in the Google Assistant environment. I bought this for my parents, as they have an Amazon Fire TV Stick to stream live TV via Playstation Vue. For that use case, the Echo Dot works great, as you can easily link the Dot to the Fire TV Stick to tune to different channels on PS Vue, watch a certain movie on Prime Video, etc. I also like the Xbox integration, and the speaker's sound quality is pretty impressive on the new generation for how small it is. That being said, the Echo's capabilities can be limited in some areas. For example, shortly after I set the device up, the Dot's light ring began to glow orange. I didn't know what that meant, so I decided to experiment and ask the Echo. "Sorry, I don't understand" was the response from the Dot. I asked my Google Home the same question, and it listed what each color of the light ring on the Dot indicated. Sometimes it seems like the Dot can't even return an answer that only requires a simple internet search. The bottom line to me is- if you're integrated into Amazon's ecosystem, or there are specific skills that the Echo can perform that the Google Home devices can't, then I'd recommend the Echo Dot. For most people, I would lean toward the Google Home environment.

Received one of these for free when we bought our new TV. Came back and got two more for other rooms of the house. Now we can have music throughout the house as well as an intercom system using the "Drop In" function. Great item for the money.

We bought this $20 item to add to our existing 2 Echo Dot (3rd gen), because it is so convenient and nice to access the info by voice activation. It is light weight and can be placed anywhere in a room without taking up much space.

This sits next to the armchair in front of the of our new smart TV. Could we control the TV with a remote? Sure, but this makes everything just that much easier, especially for my vision impaired mother who can't clearly see remote buttons.

We already have a couple of Google Home Minis, and picked this up for my daughter. Setup was a breeze and it seems to have a LOT more functionality than the Google Home Mini. I wish we had gotten the Echo Dots in the first place!

I use this mainly to turn on my lights and not much else. Sometimes I have it play music, check the weather, make simple calculations, or whatever; but I mostly naturally do that on my phone anyway. Works great.

Speakers are good and love the fact that it can turn my lights of and on , i have a smart home so i never run out of things i can pair with it , i enjoy it alot.

We are seniors and hadn’t considered the Alexa until my brother on law showed us his. We couldn’t be happier with it. Love to have Alexa play us music and answer various questions. We are learning new things every day. Five stars!

I purchased this unit as a Secret Santa gift. After the person won it, I explained to them how the Alexa units work and how simple they tend to make life. She went off and bought one for each bedroom of her house (she loved it so much after using it for a week).

This is my second echo, it is in my living room / dining room area (small home). I love it. Just recently, I set up a few routines, which I really like. I also got a smart power strip, and now I can voice control turning on my lamp, seems silly but it is nice.

I had one for several years and it just stopped working. I wanted a replacement. Its great to play music, get weather. I also wanted something to get instant answers to questions like what time is a store open until.

I love everything about the 3rd generation echo dot. The overall quality is excellent. I can't believe all the things you can do with the dot considering its very affordable price. One of the best values you will find.
