Picking up a 3rd generation echo dot for under $30 is a no brainer. The smart function, easy of use and control of other smart home devices led me to Anazons Alexa. Purchased several for different rooms and the audio quality is excellent for such a small speaker.

Received one of these for free when we bought our new TV. Came back and got two more for other rooms of the house. Now we can have music throughout the house as well as an intercom system using the "Drop In" function. Great item for the money.

Me and my husband absolutely love this echo, we bought three, connected all of them via Bluetooth and we use them as speakers for around the house or we use them by themselves. Plus, they sound fantastic, a good upgrade if you want to change your echo dot 2nd gen.

Wife wanted another speaker in another room. Something you really couldn’t see and would blend in. This was perfect. Great sound. Works great

Amazon Alexa is doing a good job in controlling our smart switches. Alexa is always ready to answer any questions you may have. We have had Alexa for about 10 months. We bought it during a sale so got a good price at Best Buy.

Its an Amazon Echo, its pretty good. It makes Lists, Sets alarms, plays music, You can attach basically anything to it. Its great if you're going for the "Smart Home"

Amazon Echo Dot is great! Really easy to use and Install! I bought them to control basically every smart device, such as TV's, lights, speakers, etc. Love the blue light it comes with and it looks somewhat elegant.Ama

I always wanted to buy a smart speaker, this fulfilled my wish. However, there is some latency issues at the start of the song or any voice when initially connected to laptop. I always face this issue. Sometimes it connects well but sometimes it won’t. Other than this I’m overall satisfied with the product

Purchased this to replace a dot that was fried in hurricane Ida. Works well, was easy to setup, kid mode can be enabled for use in a child's room.

Personally, I am fairly deeply immersed in the Google Assistant environment. I bought this for my parents, as they have an Amazon Fire TV Stick to stream live TV via Playstation Vue. For that use case, the Echo Dot works great, as you can easily link the Dot to the Fire TV Stick to tune to different channels on PS Vue, watch a certain movie on Prime Video, etc. I also like the Xbox integration, and the speaker's sound quality is pretty impressive on the new generation for how small it is. That being said, the Echo's capabilities can be limited in some areas. For example, shortly after I set the device up, the Dot's light ring began to glow orange. I didn't know what that meant, so I decided to experiment and ask the Echo. "Sorry, I don't understand" was the response from the Dot. I asked my Google Home the same question, and it listed what each color of the light ring on the Dot indicated. Sometimes it seems like the Dot can't even return an answer that only requires a simple internet search. The bottom line to me is- if you're integrated into Amazon's ecosystem, or there are specific skills that the Echo can perform that the Google Home devices can't, then I'd recommend the Echo Dot. For most people, I would lean toward the Google Home environment.

It’s Alexa and was on sale around Thanksgiving. Haven’t used it much yet.

So convenient to have and use love being able to listen to music or audio while cleaning or cooking

I'm 72 and my grandkids of course were the ones to install it for me. Love it I have music in different rooms and every morning I asked about the weather...so now prepared to know what to expect.

This is my second echo, it is in my living room / dining room area (small home). I love it. Just recently, I set up a few routines, which I really like. I also got a smart power strip, and now I can voice control turning on my lamp, seems silly but it is nice.

I purchased this unit as a Secret Santa gift. After the person won it, I explained to them how the Alexa units work and how simple they tend to make life. She went off and bought one for each bedroom of her house (she loved it so much after using it for a week).

Bought for a childs room that doesn't have over head lighting. We got the smart bulbs for her lamp. Makes it so much easier just having Alexa turn the light on & off for her room. She really enjoys being able to listen to music with it also.

I love the appearance and size of this smart speaker. Its the first one that I have ever had and I am looking forward to upgrading in the near future.

Bought this Echo Dot (3rd Gen) to put on my desk in our den. Already have a primary Alexa installed in our great room and really enjoy now having both Alexa devices in our home. Highly recommend---especially if you can buy it while on sale at BB.

Great hands-free product and ability to set timers, along with different kinds of notifications, as well as playing music, podcasts, and information retrieval.

Fantastic sound for such a small package, I’ve got several of these around the house and together they make the sound of huge speakers without me huge price!
