While the previous Echo Dots were cheap ways to extend smart home control all over your home, they weren't the most attractive devices and had weedy sounds. The Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen) as a vast improvement on the originals, even though it costs exactly the same. The new finish looks fantastic and the new Echo Dot is a device that you'd happily put out on show. Audio has been dramatically improved, too, both in terms of quality and loudness, which makes Alexa easier to understand and means that the odd bit of music or radio is a possibility. If you're looking to put Alexa in more rooms, then this is the device to buy.

Thanks Amazon for creating such another amazing product. Perfect for basic smart home speaker. Great sound, sounds awesome. Ask anything to Alexa! Great for bedrooms and anywhere else. I use it for a intercom for my sons room upstairs and I use my echo show 5. My son uses it everyday for an alarm clock and just about anything. Great smart speaker, would highly recommended the echo dot for your next smart speaker. On top of device ha mute, minus and plus sound, and turn off mic buttons for easy use. Very easy to setup thru the Alexa app. 5 stars hope you enjoy too, thanks Amazon.

So my house has become more and more of a “connected home” over the years, and the Amazon Echo Dot truly does showcase the features of what a modern day Smart home can do for you. First off, you have Amazon’s Alexa, which is a standalone winner just with how it integrates with Amazon customers. Furthermore, you add to that the features like voice control to adjust things like thermostat settings, home security, home audio/theater, and it eliminates having to fiddle with your phone or tablet trying to find a corresponding app because all you have to do is speak your command and just like that, it’s done!

Well I have to say this is a neat little device. Really we could have cared less about getting one but it was a free promotion with something else we bought so here we are. It was a nice surprise to find out that it is compatible already with all the other stuff we have been adding to our house over the last several years - thermostat, security system, smart plugs/bulbs etc. We can tell it to turn on lights, set the heat, set the alarm etc. I think if you have any of that or plan to get any of it then this is a nice compliment to all of that. I think if we didn't have any of that though it wouldn't be very cool by itself. It is a lot of fun and it's very easy to get used to. In fact after a couple weeks using it you find yourself trying to talk to other things you own :) Enjoy.

Good things come in small package! Great sound. Perfect size to for under my mounted tv. Easy to set up ,program and use.

The 3rd generation Dot looks better and works better than the 2nd generation. The speaker is better too. We use all our Echo devices as an intercom system using the drop in feature. All in all this is an excellent device.

Product was simple to set up. This is actually the second echo dot I purchased. Having two works well in my mother's apartment. She is 90 years old and this allows her to call for help in any room she is in. Much cheaper than subscribing to a service that would do basically the same thing. Mom has the ability to call her friends by name or get emergency assistance. I also have the ability from my Echo Dot in my house to "drop in" on her if I can't get her by phone.

Great sound, compact easy placement and easy to set up with plug and play. Good price. The only thing I would’ve liked is the time display. However I learned that’s a different model.

Longer Review; After dragging my heels for over a year, I finally bought our first Echo (2nd Generation) back in August. I loved it so much that I got us 2 more for other areas in the house. Being able to group them and play the same music or audio throughout the house is a novelty that won't grow old for me. I've only wished that they had a little more full sound, especially at higher volume. I'd considered the last Echo Plus, but the average of reviews I read didn't make it appear to perform significantly better than our already great 2nd Generation Echos. When I saw this new Echo Plus listed, I pre-ordered it to "replace" the Heather Grey Echo in our kitchen and move that one to our bedroom. We tend to have music playing in the kitchen more than any other room, and I wanted slightly better sound than the regular Echo in there. I'm honestly glad we took a chance on this device without any reviews to go by.

Great little speaker for the price. Love the functionality and ability to work with Alexa app to work with shopping lists. Play music and more.

Still new at this, but I do know if you connect Alexa to a home hub system, she can do so much more. But for now, we can ask her simple questions like the weather or date. She also plays music from I heart radio.

Good speaker sound, very easy to set up and pair this is the 2nd one we own. I love that it can literally connect with any device.

Since having many Echo devices in my home, along with the original of this device, we are quite comfortable with Alexa helping us and entertaining us. Upgrading my Gen 1 Dot to this Gen 3 is worth every penny (even though not too many pennies as it was on sale!). The sound is much fuller and responsiveness is quite a bit better. The look and feel with the Gen 3, with it's cloth type covering and different colors available set it far above the Gen 1 Echo. Amazon has made the setup for these almost "knucklehead-proof" (which is me) Whether dabbing you toe for the first time in the Amazon Echo waters, or like me wanted an upgrade, this is worth the purchase!

In our effort to 'cut the cable' we chose to upgrade an expand our Amazon horizons. That is how we found this bundle deal. We saved about half by the total price and got a Fire TV Stick and this 3rd Gen Echo Dot. I tried to give a solemn goodbye to the old Gen 1 Alexa but she was still too dumb to understand. Since the easiest install ever, I turned it on and it told me to open my mobile Alexa app and show it my wifi. Then magically it was set up! I am on a Trial Prime Music (3 months) that got me another 3rd Gen Alexa and thousands of my favorite songs for under 10 bucks, I discovered I can play music to all my Dots at once! Very happy with my Best Buy purchase.

I love love love my Echos!!!!! I use mine to set alarms and reminders and while working around the house, it's easy to add to my shopping list when I find out I'm almost out of something and it's small enough to mix well with any room's decor. I would love one for my car and other rooms. I also play music on mine, ask the temperature outside and many other questions.

I bought one last Christmas for my mom to work with smart switches and it works perfectly. She can ask if to turn on any of the three living room lamps individually or together. Then she can tell it to turn on her bedroom lamp and will have that light heading down the hall as she heard to bed. I just bought a second for her to use in her bedroom too and one for myself. Mine is to use a dimmable color light bulb. And I saw it will work with a new receiver I bought and I've really liked using it for hands free answering questions, listening to music, and even generating soothing sleep sounds! I'm using it for more and more all the time!

Paired this with our new Insignia tv for easy control. It connected easily to our larger Alexa, and it has great sound for a small unit!

I jumped into the smart speaker world with this little echo dot unit. I have been very impressed at the quality of its voice recognition and ability to control other smart equipment (like my smart outlet and integrate into my Sonos audio). The speaker itself is not very good, but I have this push audio out of my Sonos. I personally would not rely on it for streaming music, but it's probably okay for listening to podcasts and talk radio. You can read plenty of reviews elsewhere on the pros and cons of Amazon's Alexa. Overall I've been pleased but here and there Alexa can be frustrating, and some streaming services/capabilities are not supported, but overall this product works great.

Great little product - like having it play music and add to shopping list and remind me. Connects to other products. For the price - a nice little addition to the home.
