The only major difference would be the shape, and the mic array. The largest problem with the 4th generation is going to be the mic array, you basically have to almost yell for it to hear you. The 3rd generation does not have this problem. It hears me clearly, and the notification light is where I am able to see it. The processing speed is slightly slower than the 4th generation, but that’s almost not noticeable. I recommend the 3rd generation echo dot, over the 4th generation echo dot.

This is so much better in every aspect. The dots UI is better, Alexa actually gives you the results you ask for and it sounds great. GG amazon...gg.
