Sound is better on this dot than the previous generation. If you have a regional accent, better speak slowly and clearly.

I love having it for alarm and music throughout the day

I purchased like 10 for everyone I know they are really, I use the white noise for help with sleep, reminders and alarms, only complaint I have is that sometimes she cant hear me but that could be c use I have a raspy voice, other than that nothing negative to day, the white I placed in my kitchen to use as timer for my meals and I linked it with the other one for sounds

We got this free when we bought our Ring Doorbell. It works fine although we don’t use it for much. It controls some lights and we play music on it. Alexa is a little hard to understand sometimes. She will tell you a corny joke of the day!

I use this primarily for playing music in my bedroom and bathroom. It has really great sound quality and I can easily hear the music over my shower.

Works great with the Smart Bulb to turn off light from bed so I don't have to stumble around in the dark at my age!

I stayed away from Alexa for security reasons as well as my general dislike of Amazon, but decided to try these out once they became available with a hardware mute button, as well as Amazon's making it easier to manage what data is stored on their servers. I have a pair in my kitchen and keep them muted except when I want to perform a specific task (stream Pandora or iHeart, check on the weather). They're just a couple of feet away so it's easy to unmute, perform the task, and mute again. The only downside is that the status ring always glows red to indicate that they're muted. But I've gotten used to that and it's a small price to pay for my privacy. Overall the sound is good enough for simple streaming while you're working, but not good enough for serious music streaming. But what can you expect from a $20 unit?
