These are great. Sound quality is great for this being simply a point of contact with Alexa. It is good enough to enjoy audio books and even for music as well when you are doing something else and just want to hear some music like when in the bathroom or doing the dishes for example. If you want are wanting to listen to music for music itself, this will even get the job done well but this is not really meant to listen to music as when you put music to sit and listen to music. When you want to do this, then you are naturally going to want to use your stereo system with its big speakers instead or your can buy the bigger Echo speaker unit. The other option you have is that you can plug the Audio out on the Echo Dot into your stereo system and get the big sound of your stereo system and speakers but the convenience using Alexa to provide you with the music you want to find and listen to and as well your audio books, news etc.

Connects with all of my alexa devices and echo show. I can communicate with my daughters using the device like a home intercom. Music sounds great, the device looks great, and using these school dots as one whole system I can play music on all my echo dots at once making it a pretty good in home sound system.

I see this as the start to my new smarthome - the cameras, the plugs, the lights, it's all coming together and this little gem is the centerpiece = so easy to use, easy to integrate, easy to look at... also, even if it's just used as a speaker - sounds great - 5 stars all day - but.... I wish it could turn off my tv...

Got it as an additional gift for a TV purchase. Use it every day for reminders, timers, news, music, etc. It’s my first experience with Alexa and I have not been disappointed.

I love Alexa. She is very easy to talk to and the speakers are actually pretty good for such a small device. You have a plethora of settings and options you can change through the Alexa app. It is also cool how you can send announcements through different rooms.

I bought two of these to get with the ring alarm system. Easy to pair works like they are supposed to, I bought the black for our bedroom it blends with the dresser and you can barely notice it’s there. I would recommend. It came well packaged and I like that I can tell Alexa to arm or disarm the security system.

Great little speaker for my small room asking Alexa to shut down lights and answering questions is very helpful. Will eventually place in the kitchen plug flush so i have music in there and still have counterspace.

I received a speaker Christmas, 2018. I didn't set it up right away, about 2 months after Christmas. It took a while to learn how to use it. It's a very nice speaker. The sound is awesome and the speaker is very sturdy. My grandchildren love using it. My wife and I ended up using this speaker almost daily. In 2020, I bought 5 speakers. 4 speakers for me, 1 speaker for my grandchildren. I have music everywhere now at me house. It is great, no wires to connect to have the speakers all work together. This device does a lot more, but I don't use all the functions to run the house. The price I paid was excellent, $18.99, each, on sale. This included a free smart light bulb to use with the speakers. I have 5 smart light bulbs. I couldn't go wrong not buying the speakers. This little speaker does so much. There are a lot of tutorial videos out there on how to use this device and how to carefully/securely use the device.

The Echo Dot is a game-changer! Compact, crystal-clear sound, and a smart home genius. Love it!

I was a bit uneasy using something like this. It took me years to use Siri. But it was a bundled pkg so I tried it out. Easier than Siri to learn and use and I like that I can shut the mic off. The music even sounds nice.

I didn't think I'd use this, but I use it at least a few times a day to turn on my lights, play music, etc. I would definitely say that this is the better option over Apple's HomePod, due to having support for more smart home items, and it still has the ability to link to Apple Music.

Amazon echo is a great addition to my household I love that she answers you when you call out to her. She also does what you ask!

Alexa! The microphones are better than in the older models and looks good with the cloth like texture on the sides (previous gen use to have a Fabric case for this look). Good for alarms, timers, lights and much more home automation.

This echo dot is very loud and gets the job done! I carry it with me to work and plug it in to play music throughout the day and get weather info. Love this and how easy it is to use with the app!

I already owned 2 google homes but after hearing Alexa has a drop in feature which is an intercom system from device to device we bought 4 of these for Christmas so everyone had one in their rooms. Also I like that you can play any song you want whereas google can’t do that it plays only stations not specific songs.

I have the Gen1 dot also and compared to that, the Gen2 sounds MUCH better! Unfortunately, it isn't very consistent in hearing us. When we first set it up, it worked great. Maybe an update screwed something up, but a few months after first setup, it wouldn't hear us fairly often. As a speaker, it sounds pretty good. Bass is the biggest improvement, along with considerably more volume. At Max volume it does distort slightly, but back off the volume a touch and it'll clean up. Gets plenty loud while still clean.

Got this as a bonus for buying another product. I’ve been able to connect it to other devices in my home. My favorite is the wall plugs. I can ask Alexa to turn on/off my appliances connected to my smart plugs. Super convenient for hard to get to places, like corner lamps and Christmas trees. Very happy for the gift!
