And if your an Apple genius/ Android denier you should know that you do not have to have the actual Alexa device for this to work as Alexa does. Might be a few differences but this echo checks all the boxes that made Alexa so appealing. Just downloaded the Alexa app and start coordinating tasks and setting alarms like never before. Also, if it’s still on sale and you can swing enough for a couple more, I’d say go for it...I found out the drop in ( or something similar) feature that allows you to check on a vulnerable/at risk loved ones daily activity to make sure everything’s ok if you can’t get. Ahold of them for some reason.. my mom now spends her mornings using the device to fill us in on her wants and needs such as acceptable price points for a fridge split between 5 people( 5 siblings) short story long, great purchase and you don’t need anything but WiFi for this to work.

After the initial set up everything just seems to work smoothly. I also own a Google mini and, although it works fine, it does have some quirks to it. My opinion is the echo Dot is a little more refined.

Works good most of the time
