While this is larger than the previous Echo Dot, the rubber like material on top and the mesh wrap around is a step up. The sound quality and increase in volume level is what I found to be the biggest improvement... That said, I feel that there is no true mid level volume. My experience is that if I’m looking for that “sweet spot” it doesn’t exist, as it’s either quieter than I would like it to be or louder than I would like it to be. I did purchase two Dots for one room for the purpose of stereo sound. This is where I believe Amazon fell short. For the last few years, I have been able to use a pair of very inexpensive Bluetooth wireless speakers at the same time for listening to music from my cell phone & laptop. With the Dot, you are limited as to what will play in stereo and what won’t. I feel as if I have taken a step back in time with respect to technology as relates to this issue. My only other hope for future Dots is that they make them waterproof. Again, I have wireless Bluetooth speakers that I can attach via suction cup to my shower wall. I’d like to be able to take advantage of the smart home I’ve created, forged on the foundation of the Echo Dot when I’m in the shower, or anywhere there might be water. Bottom line, for the price you can’t beat it. Amazon has made improvements. I am hoping for refinements with the next generation Dot.

Got this for my dad for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. It's easy to setup and use and the quality of it is super good considering I only had to pay $30.

My daughter loves it. You are able to ask Alexa any question, play your music from Spotify, or any music app…it’s a great bargain.

I bought this for a white elephant event gift for the holidays and the person who got it tells me that it is a great addition to the home its loud enough to hear from across the house and very easy to set up.

Responds well to commands and questions. We use it to turn on and off our lights and gives us updates on our shipments from Amazon. Easily connects to wifi.

Prefer these then all the “new bigger “ Alexa’s their making. I tried the small screen one and the tall bigger one and medium sized one, and I solely use them for Music and these small echo dots have the best sounding about of them All!! I paid over $100 for the bigger one and $50-60 for the medium oval one and tossed them away and replaced them with these echo dots.. got 2 on half off during dec 2022 but now I need 1 more so that will be 4 total in my small home lol..

Another highly useful piece of tech that goes well with my WiFi items in my place. Easy to set up and use in less then 15 minutes. After that just download the apps echo need on the smartphone to hookup with other WiFi items.

Great for your home, office or room. It is very loud. Has a loud quality sound with decent bass. It is very responsive to voice commands. An overall good quality product for the price.

The sound quality is excellent and the ease of use is remarkable. You will have to program Alexa to perform tasks, but though the app, it is relatively easy to do. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

I love it! Alexa will read me a story or tell Samuel l Jackson to tell me a joke! ( Download of Sam Jackson's voice skill req'd) Alexa can turn off my smart light bulbs or change the color to whichever color I feel like requesting! How cool is that? I bought several to give as Christmas gifts and I'm sure the recipients will love this device as much as I do!

For such a light price tag, it does a lot. Great voice recognition and the speaker is loud. The setup is really easy, and the software is well made. Lots of skills to add as well you connect nearly anything.

Love the convince of an Echo Dot for music, talk radio, controlling my lights, robot vacuum, etc. So easy to use & set up. Group them and music plays all over the house.

Good sound for a small speaker. Love Alexa and the ease of use in streaming audio. Also have it hooked up to turn my tv on and off... fun! I actually have 3 situated throughout the house.

We already have several devices in our home i was adding items to the grocery list out loud and she wasn’t in the room. Kid took one to college. This device is kind of expensive but so easy to use. I love pulling up the app in the grocery and seeing the list. The kids put stuff on the list and it’s all in one place. Love Not having to yell for the kids in the house. I can just make announcements and drop into rooms. I set alarms. Kids use it all the time for music and weather. Like getting real time weather alerts and package notifications.
