Excellent product

Now I can play music throughout the house, connect with my wife when she is downstairs, and even use it to update our shopping list when we are running out of laundry soap, etc.

Echo Dot works great for home automation

The various skills allows me to control almost any IoT device that I have. Some of the skills could be difficult to configure. Unfortunately these skills are programmed by the maker of the IoT device so the quality of these skills varies wildly. If you wait for the holiday season deals, then the value for this item is excellent.
