this is my 1st echo dot. i'm really enjoying it. love that it can play my apple music and update me daily on the news. great price.

Not a bad little device with a decent sound. Its a smaller version of an alexa speaker. its great for a small bedroom. i like the look of the device and what it does!

No need for a Ring Chime when a Dot does Chime work and much more. Not to mention The Dot goes on sale for half the rice of a dedicated Chime.

No issues, sound is good and price was great. Seems very durable and is easy to use

This is the second echo dot I own. It is a little bigger than the older generation. It pairs very easily

I have a few Echo Dot's in my house. All of them were easy to setup and work great. It is cool to play music throughout the house on all the echo dot's.

I highly recommend the 3rd Gen Echo Dot as it’s a small device with lots of functions. It has great sound for music and Alexa responds correctly to endless questions. Love it!!!

Its small so easy to find a place for it. Compact design, works well, has surprisingly good sound for its size. I would recommend to anyone.

Minimal space but massive sound .....hides well within my decor when not in use but very responsive when asked - definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for the smaller Alexa version

Got 3 of these for a good deal to replace some older Dots, and allow me to shuffle my setup around to maximize my coverage. One of the new Dots actually replaced a 2nd gen Echo (full size) on my office desk because I realized that I never ever ran the Echo at a high volume and its superior quality sound was better used elsewhere in my house. But to compare apples for apples, this generation of Dot does seem to have a richer/warmer sound quality than the pervious generation, particularly at higher volume . Other than that they seem to have the exact same functionality/limits and capability. Setup seemed to go smoother than with the previous generation but I think that is more an upgrade to the Alexa software package than the hardware. One thing that surprised me is that with the new style with the fabric wrapping and the rounded top it is slightly larger and at least to my eye slightly more noticeable/conspicuous than the 2nd gen Dots. They do match nicely with the Echos that I have in other places and for some reason that matters to my wife. You might guess that I am committed to the Echo-sphere and you'd be right.

I use the Echo Dots for Wemo and Ring product remote activation: "Alexa, turn off the Man Cave Lights" or "Alexa, arm the Ring Security System"... most often I use it to turn off the bedroom lights at night without having to get out of bed. Speaker is average, if you're looking for quality audio step up to the full size Echo or get a better standalone unit dedicated for that purpose. Functionality is great, especially for getting your morning news in a 5-minute chunk via the "Flash Briefing" function. Love the product, especially at the $20/25 price point when it's on sale. I'm at 4 units, plus the Kid version for my 7-year old... and I'll probably end up with a few more.

The dot is mostly fun and convenient. I give it 4 stars b/c I said "mostly". Not sure how anyone can think something that works most of the time, instead of all the time, is 5 star material. This is all new tech, so problems should be expected. Getting into an argument w/ Alexa b/c you are so frustrated the device is not doing what you are telling it to do (misunderstands command) only happens occasionally, but it still happens, even many months after purchase. I also use Alexa to control many lights...that is if the lights are still connected. That could be the light brand and could be Alexa, but every couple months I am re-setting up a light that is no longer connected to Alexa, which is not convenient, and convenience is pretty much the point. Overall, I am happy w/ my dots (have 3 and use them as intercoms), just don't expect perfection or 5 star performance.

i was looking for an upgrade to replace my older digital alarm clock, and saw this on bestbuy.com and another site. did some research on the Echo Dot 3rd gen, and read good things about it. it was on sale on here so decided to purchase one. i'm very glad that i did. it's my first time actually using an Alexa product. i mainly use it as an alarm clock, and at times ask Alexa about the weather, or just to listen to the morning radio. the sound is clear and pretty loud for a puck sized radio with a fabric covering on it. she hears me pretty well when i am on the other side of my apartment. i definitely recommend this product to anyone that is in the market for an item like this.

This is my 2nd echo I own and also have the show. I love All Amazon Alexa products. So easy to use and the speaker is pretty good.

These little gadgets have been amazing. Set them up in all of our bedrooms and living spaces. Helps avoid yelling throughout the house because we use drop in and announcements to talk to each other. The multi room music groups help keep the volume down upstairs when I’m cleaning because I can hear the same music synced in each room as I walk between them. Got my mom a couple and set up so if we can’t reach her we can drop in and make sure she’s okay without her needing to be able to reach a phone. I also gave one to my special needs niece and it helps keep her busy listening to music instead of waking my sister up at 4 am. Just be sure to disable the calling feature and also set so you can’t order things from it. Quality of the sound is as expected for this type of device, size, and price. The speaker isn’t as great as I’d like. And it’s not portable or rechargeable in the fact that is always has to be plugged in. Those last items are the only reason I give it a 4.

My son introduced me to how the Echo Dot worked by having it turn on our Christmas tree by voice commands. Seemed pretty neat. As a result, I ordered 2 surge protectors which had outlets and USB ports that are voice controlled. By installing one of these next to my recliner, I can turn two lights on/off, two computer chargers on/off, and the four USB ports on/off. Since my den does not have an overhead light, is somewhat dark and the light switches are inconvenient, the Echo Dot make it easy to turn on lights when I enter the room or turn off when leaving. Especially nice when I have something in my hands. And it was easy to set up!

Love the dot. It is loud and has very clear sound. I use the echo dot outside when using the BBQ and in the garage. It’s small and doesn’t take up space.

Much better than Gen 2. Used to upgrade and much more bass and gets louder. Very clear. Didn't think it would be much different but it is. Would recommend.

Love this little thing. Perfect for my Needs. Does exactly as described to do. Easy to operate, Sound is good, Color is perfect.

We have so much fun with Alexa. She gives us information and is very helpful. This smart speaker is quite clear and easy to install.
