The Echo Dot 3G was a last minute stocking stuffer for my wife and she loves it. She put it in her bathroom and uses it for news, weather and her favorite talk radio. Big success for under $50.

Echo Dot is easy to install and use. Pairing up with lights, cell for examples enables you to do more with it. Exciting purchase

Bought this model with the clock specially to replace my old clock radio that still had a CD player as it was taking up too much space on my night stand. This works exactly as intended. I use it for my morning alarms and listening to news while I get ready for work in the mornings. I like using the voice controls to turn my bedroom lights on and off once I am in bed so I don't have to get up once I'm comfortable. This little device also has plenty of volume for casual music listening in the bedroom. I know there are many other great features I have yet to take advantage of but this works exactly as I want it to.

The new Amazon Echo Dots really show they're meant for music. After buying my grandmother one for the far-field microphones, I was finally able to hear how they really sound. I must say, it was better than I thought. There's finally some real definition, mainly in the mids and highs but there is still a decent amount of bass. Since they can be paired together as stereo I decided to take advantage of the holiday pricing and grabbed two of them for $50. Having them set in stereo was a whole new level. Throw in the recently added Apple Music access and its absolutely perfect for my room. Theres even the Echo Sub that adds deep and rich bass that I'm considering adding to my group.

Good overall performance for compact design. Can put in a wide variety of places without taking up much space.

It’s good! Works well and connects well. The only down side is that it doesn’t connect to Netflix

We got our Amazon Echo Dot free with my EcoBee4 and we love it! Alexa is so nice and she does almost everything we ask of her. We just wish she would learn to feed our dogs. Otherwise, the EcoBee4 is great for reminders, lists, timers, ordering, and much more. We're so happy that we finally got one!

I have Echo/Alexa dots in four rooms. They're all different, even the two identical ones I bought at the same time at the same place. This latest one, the one I'm reviewing here, is stupid. I am serious. I have one in my living room and it is able to answer basic questions, play songs, etc., with no problems. This one is in the next room (I do not have them synced) and it doesn't seem to understand what any of us are saying without one of us having to repeat it, it sometimes pops on by itself (yes, really), and it doesn't take direction well. For example, with the one in the living room, when one of us says, "Alexa, stop," it shuts down. This newer one doesn't seem to understand we want it to be quiet until we shout at it to shut up. And yes, it's in an open area with excellent wi-fi. I don't know why the Alexa/Echo/Whatever-you-want-to-call-them are so different, but each one has a different "personality" and very different information (which seems strange) and capabilities. For the price, however, all of them have been worth it.

i bought about 5 of these, they work really well for acting as a security system, always listening. if they hear glass break or noises when you activate your security settings, they will alert you to your cell phone. Pretty nice

Big upgrade from 2nd Gen. The speaker sounds so much better and no sharp edges on it. Would be nice to have more colors to choose from, otherwise good job.

Easy to use - voice clear / simple set up and picks up from large distance

New improved design and sound quality is good. New power connection, not as practical as the micro USB. Not a fan of the fabric.

This is a very good smart speaker and has good volume on it.

Easy to format with other electronic devices in home, specifically my tv. works wonder sound of the voice feature.

While the 3gen Dot is not powered by USB, the more powerful power supply is probably responsible for the improved sound
