Got a couple of these 2 for $50 around Christmas time and don’t regret it one bit. Great intercom system and great whole home music player. Good sound and easy setup.

Great addition to the house. We have it in the grand baby's Room. Can play music stream different things through it. They absolutely love it. Also teaches the grand kids how to ask questions and get answers from her.

Check the weather, sports score or anything you want. Pair them together with another dot for stereo sound. Best part is the price. Can’t be beat.

Great for using as a speaker when you have a lot of Amazon devices

It’s a pretty cool product, very convenient just talk to it and I’ll do whatever you want.

It is slower when responding to your requests some times have had to ask again and is then says okay.

I had high hopes for the 3rd Gen Echo dot. I put mine in my Master bedroom, behind a table lamp (That is what I did with my previous echo dot (2nd Gen) and the Google home mini). I assumed this will work fine. But most times, the echo dot will not even respond. Either the mics on these are very low sensitivity or not enough. Now I have to keep the echo dot in line of sight to have any reasonable response. Even then I see 1 out of 5 wake words being ignored. Also, when there is a song or audio already playing on the echo, the wake word response is very low probability unless you are really loud. The sound was extremely muffled with high bass and much lower treble settings. This meant every time Alexa managed to respond to me, I had trouble making out the speech and tell her "I did not understand that" :). But those audio changes make the echo an awesome music playback device. There seems to be some form of software auto volume leveling going on, that is very unreliable. There were random change in the volume which was annoying at times. My biggest problem with the 3rd gen Echo dot was its lack of consistency with recognizing what I said. Most command recognition was almost a roll of dice. But the major reason I returned the echo dot, was the power supply design. This was bad design. Amazon decided to make their power adapter a non standard connector. This meant I cant use the tons of USB output power regulators, I have lying around in my house. Also in the age of USB type C, Amazon went a step back on their design. The reason maybe for them to avoid the use of non standard power supplies. But then that is a design flaw that they cant limit current drawn. The software app interface and set up was also a cumbersome process. This has been my qualm about amazon in general compared to their competition who seems to be picking up very fast.

I found myself saying “Alexa...” all the time so now we have one in nearly every room. Asking questions, weather forecast, setting timers, playing music, etc. and now with the COVID situation, I’ve been known to ask what day it is.

A couple of years ago we won a Google home, and it was a lot of fun. We got three of the Google Minis to go with it. Running Pandora through it worked okay, and we were happy for the most part, though we had to unplug and reboot a couple of times because Google would get weird. It randomly started playing music, once in the middle of the night. Last Black Friday the Echo Dots were on a fabulous sale so we decided to see if they worked better. We are happier with out Echo Dots than the Google, and have sprung for Prime Music Unlimited as well. We also love the notifications. Today I noticed our Echo had the green Notification ring going and asked for our notifications and Alexa told us our Prime delivery had come a day early. Without that notification we might not have brought our package in before someone else stole it. We’re happier with our Echos, we went back for 2 more and have them all over the house.

I love my amazon echo. Replaced Google Home with multiple Amazon Echos for my father-in-law who is in his late 80's. He fell recently and had no way of calling anyone for help. With the Amazon Echo, they all connect and they connect to his phone. He can now make a call using Alexa so now we don't have to worry if something happens. He can set reminders, and turn his lights on and off without having to get up to do it himself. So much easier to use than the Google Home, and it does so much more. Great Product!!! Highly recommend for everyone!

Great little device. Fits anywhere and sounds great. Price was good also. Makes a better radio than anything we have had before.
