Never really thought we would use one of these but over time I find that we have music playing in the background of game nights and dinner and we've started adding lighting control. This was actually really fun at Christmas time as we added a couple more wireless controllers to the decorations. And the family actually likes to play Jeopardy after supper. Sometimes do worry about the whole "big brother is listening" thing but my phone does that just as much so <shrug>.

These do the job for me, mostly because I use it as only marginally more than a voice-activated music player. Is Amazon listening to my conversations? Probably, but I'm pretty boring anyway. The speaker itself is acceptable for the small size, and is easy to hide. I wouldn't say there's anything outstanding, but for a product you can regularly find for $25 or less, what do you expect?

I have several dots and they are all awesome! Play music all the time and love being able to ask questions.

I really enjoy it! It’s my second one I had the first generation. The price was better than the original one. Will definitely recommend it for the the value and great performance it gives. Greater sound than the first gen also!

The setup was easy. Didn't expect high quality of sound from this small speaker but I was pleasantly surprised.

I have mixed feelings about the Dot. Sound quality is okay until you turn it up a bit then distortion kicks in. Functionality is okay. It's interface with Harmony Hub is unreliable. Sometimes it works great, other times it loses track of the connection. The same is true of the interface with KasaTP-Link. It frequently loses the connection. We also have a Google Home Hub in the house. It seems to be more reliable with its Harmony Hub connectivity. Google also seems to be more user friendly and understands queries better than Alexa, I asked both when it was going to rain today. Google responded with very specific information regarding the times it might be raining. Alexa just said it might rain today, 59% at 11 a.m. I've also purchased the Amazon Echo but haven't opened yet. I may return it and purchase the Google product line instead.

Bought this equipment to play music. But realised its much more than that. She can answer almost any question I need answers for. Plus she wakes me in the morning, remind me of any appontments or birthdays I need to remember. Love it

Whether you are their biggest amazon user, you are just trying to get into it, or you do absolutely no online shopping, this alexa speaker can still make your life that much easier. Give it a try. Alexa can come in handy with notification, playing music, letting you know when packages are close or when they arrive.

Originally got this to listen to my Amazon music account in my office, but was pleasantly surprised at the sound. Ultimately I moved this to my living room then realized that the one feature that I'm thrilled about is the ability to connect on the fly to a stereo receiver via Bluetooth when I'm ready to shake the house. Whenever I turn on the stereo, it automatically connects, and I'm ready to go. Very pleased with this purchase.

Really enjoy this product. Better value than the more expensive echo. Functionality is the same but the dot is cheaper.

We bought two of these. We have the large one and these are two additional little ones. One is used mainly for a speaker to play music in a workout room and the other one is in the bedroom. We have it paired with a couple smart bulbs so it is nice to be able to turn on the lights with our voice when entering the room. It is also convenient if we remembered something to add to the grocery list or to play sleepy music at night.

It’s a pretty dope item to have, makes things easier in your room if you connect your account to it and play music when you’re laying down or to turn off your lights if you don’t want to get up lol. It’s a time saver where I’m trying to get at.

This is my 3rd & 4th Dot which I received a free gift with 2 TVs. Very convenient to control devices throughout house.
