Bought for 14 year old granddaughter. She had it set up and connected to smart plugs and a bulb and another device in no time. Actually gave me some tips she discovered even though I have used Dots for several years. She is enjoying playing games with Alexa.

My primary speaker! Connects easily, gets voice from a distance. I have it connected with another bigger speaker and it's the perfect pair. Use it everyday, whether it's for music or setting alarms and timers. I'd recommend if in the market for a smart speaker!

Bought this to go with our ring doorbell instead of the ring chime. We love the product. It notifies us if someone is at our door. It will play music and even adjusts my thermostat for me with just telling it to. It’s great! Love the price!

This smart speaker with Alexa packs a punch! Nice volume and nice, sleek design. Works great with easy/fast setup using the Alexa App. Highly recommend!

I have built my home automation with these echo devices and we are loving it. They are very easy to use, they look good and the sound is amazing for such a small speaker. I really recommend them for your home automation

This echo dot is easy to setup. It can be used with a variety of different apps, and of course Amazon. Works great as a sound machine at night with calm app.

I use these as speakers when my family is sleeping or on conference calls, because my normal 5.1 setup can be quite loud and heard all throughout our 100+ years old house; at low volumes, my system doesn't have as clear of base or as balanced lows/highs as this little speaker. Alexa is still imperfect, herself, but many of her features make life around our house just a tad simpler since everyone now has a device in close proximity. We all love the drop-in feature. Playing music on multiple Alexa devices simultaneously can be difficult, if not impossible at times. If one device is playing music from Spotify, then the other devices must use Amazon/Pandora or just something other than Spotify. Except when ALL are forced to play the same Music Provider, through Alexa's group play functions. Personally I like the flat shape, as it allows me to easily mount the Speaker to the wall and avoid having more cord clutter on the floor. And not having an LCD display clock (available on the 4th gen) is a nonfactor for me, since I can simply as Alexa for the time anyway. For ~$25 total I purchased 2 wall mounts that allow me some flexability with Alexa's positioning in my room, without having to unplug her. Overall it's quite a decent little machine. With a bit more Alexa tweaking and functionality I think it could be worth 5 stars.

I love everything about this innovative product. Quality, price, size, sound, options, ease of use and so very chic. I bought two immediately and have given several for Christmas gifts. All recipients live them equally.

I recently renewed my SiriusXM subscription for my car and got an Echo Dot free. Normally I am an iPhone guy but I figured I would try Alexia for free. I was already used to Alxia through my Amazon Music subscription so transitioning to the Echo Dot was pretty easy. Setup was easy once I downloaded the Alexia app to my iPhone. I was immediately impressed with the amount and quality of sound coming out of this little hockey puck. I had heard 1st and 2nd gen Dots and wasn't impressed. A little research and I found out that a second Echo Dot could be added and the two of them paired into a stereo configuration. Again, an easy setup with the Alexia app. The sound quality more than doubled in stereo mode. Upside, Amazon Music and SiriusXM both play in stereo through both speakers. I understand that Apple Music and Google Play also work in stereo. However this is where the upside stops. I was able to connect my iPhone, iPad and AppleTV to the Echo Dots via Bluetooth easily but try as I might I couldn't get both Dots to play in stereo with a bluetooth connection. I don't have a FireTV but I am guessing that it may work in stereo. Great potential here that just doesn't work. Maybe this will be a feature added in the future. Would I purchase again? At free for one and a cost of $30 for the second yes, I would do it again. It's a great little hub to get started in a smart home environment. If I had paid MSRP of $50 for each one I would have to say no, it's not really worth that.

Purchased the echo dot on a great deal. Got two for really cheap. Much improved speaker versus the older generation and the felt exterior gives it a classier look. My kids love them and very easy for them to use. Well worth it at the price paid.

Great deal for like $18 bucks! Cant beat that, perfect little present this year. I have one personally and it’s connected to some smart plugs and my fire stick, really can’t beat it. The AI on Alexa is pretty sweet.

Great sound, easy to setup and remembers all my favorite songs! Also works great as alarm in bedroom and doesn't take up much space on the nightstand.

The sound on this is a lot better then the 2nd Gen. The sound is a lot fuller. More bass and not as highs than the 2nd Gen. The design is cool with the rounded edges, whereas the 2nd Gen isn't. It is also a lot louder that then 2nd Gen. Will buy again.

This is my second echo dot purchase....I don't know how I lived without this until now. I'm setting timers,reminders & alarms, making grocery lists, turning on the T.V. and a whole lot more all hands free but it's the simplest way to do hands free! I love it. I put it in the middle of my apartment and Alexa can hear me from almost anywhere. I'm constantly asking her questions and requesting definitions to words I hear in movies or getting her to set timers for cooking and reminders for medicine. I basically have a really intelligent person at my disposal 24/7. I walk everywhere i go and need to know how hot or cold it is outside so when i wake up I automatically say "Alexa what's the temperature right now" and she calls it out and tells me the high and low for today as well. I'm loving this.

This is only my second alexa dot, but im so happy with this upgrade. The sound is so much better and has a good amount of bass. Setup took less than 5 minutes. I typically use this for my office for background music, and overall im very pleased with the product.

Received as a free item with my Ring Pro purchase. It works great and is a fun piece of tech, but I do not think I would have purchased this item by itself. I do not have much use for it and I really do not like the fact that it is always on and "listening" to everything in the room. I know that an actual person is most likely not listening on the other end, but with all the data breaches going on, can you really be sure?

While the previous Echo Dots were cheap ways to extend smart home control all over your home, they weren't the most attractive devices and had weedy sounds. The Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen) as a vast improvement on the originals, even though it costs exactly the same. The new finish looks fantastic and the new Echo Dot is a device that you'd happily put out on show. Audio has been dramatically improved, too, both in terms of quality and loudness, which makes Alexa easier to understand and means that the odd bit of music or radio is a possibility. If you're looking to put Alexa in more rooms, then this is the device to buy.

I received the echo dot free with the purchase of my Toshiba Fire TV. I never thought I'd want or need an echo dot, so to say I was surprised by how much I love this would be an understatement! The dot was easy to set up and connect with my Amazon account. The sound quality from such a small device is exceptional and I love the features and ability to connect it to my tv and other devices. I was given some smart lightbulbs for Christmas that I've connected with my echo dot; it's been awesome to control the lights in my room with just my voice! It may be lazy, but there is something so nice about being able to turn the lights off without getting out of bed when you're super cozy! I love this so much that I am even thinking of getting another for our kitchen. So happy with this item!
