This came free with my purchase of a FireTV. When I initially got it, I had no idea what I was actually going to do with it. I live in an apartment complex and use wireless headphones for everything. I don't have a smart home and I was certain it would go to waste. Boy was I wrong. I cracked my phone screen last week and haven't found a replacement device yet. I used my phone as an alarm clock and now I use my Echo Dot. She can get 3-4 times louder than a phone so I don't actually sleep through my alarm any more. Another advantage is I can now stream my music through it instead of my computer. Since I use my computers to take calls from work, this has been a life saver.

I have a couple of the original Echo Dots and the new 3rd generation has more rich, full tone. Other functions are the same. I also have the Google Home Mini with sound quality equal to the Dot Gen 3. In my opinion Google has a better database for answering questions than Amazon. Amazon is getting better but not as good as Google. I like the intercom feature with the Amazon devices.

great little speaker that works well with smart lights. i like how it connects to your amazon prime account and plays music from what you already like. setting up smart lights with this is very easy even with multiple rooms. highly recommend if you are thinking about getting smart wifi lights but dont want to invest a lot of money for something you arent sure if youll like.

I already have one and so setup was easy. Only issue I have is linking my phone to Alexa. Says i already have a phone set up with Amazon. Wants me to call in. Should have an easier way to connect your phone. Still five stars

Excellent Sound Quality and better battery life. His ability to understand, his compact size. I loved

added 4 more Alexa's to the house. that makes 7 in total. I have 2 sets paired up in the exercise room which is great for playing those favorite tunes or meditation music when doing yoga.

These older echo dots are still gret and fun and useful to have. Best little free gift ever.

The 3rd Generation Echo Dot is fun to use, helpful especially when my hands are full sits unobtrusively out of the way. The sound quality from such a small speaker is very good. I look forward to having one in every room.

sound was better than expected, and very easy to use

I love it. I use it for so many things including turning on and off all the holiday lights. Play music, get the weather for the day, track packages and get notifications when they arrive.

This was such a great buy. We bought it Black Friday with the free light bulb. I love that we can talk and find out information by asking questions. Small enough device to put anywhere.

this dot is loud, connects to my tv and to my Ring door cam. I'm a fan.

Bought this for our mother/mother in law to use to remind her to drink water every two hours and take her medications on time. It's easy to use even for someone not comfortable with technology.

After owning generation 1 and 2 I took them both back the same day but this 3rd generation Is a keeper. When you pull it out of the Box it is heavy and well made plus looks a lot better and the speaker is great for just a dot.

I’ve been using this with the smart plugs and it’s amazing. It will tell me all the weather and traffic conditions when I start off my day and will shut down the lights without having to go to each switch and turning it off.

These are great to put around the house and combine to make a whole house music atmosphere for parties or to get some cleaning done. Using them as intercom is an additional wow feature.

Not going to lie she is creepy at times almost like she is possessed. I have literally woken up to her little light shining like she is listening to me sleep. Otherwise alexa is great for games or music

Love these things, this is my 8th one installed. The newest gen sounds great for music and we use them as intercoms throughout the house. We have a mixture of Dots, and Shows to accomplish this.

I never seem to have radio reception, so I thought I'd try the echo dot--I'm so impressed! It streams whatever I want to listen to, tells me the weather, answers questions! I'm so impressed--I now want one in every room :-)
