I bought one last Christmas for my mom to work with smart switches and it works perfectly. She can ask if to turn on any of the three living room lamps individually or together. Then she can tell it to turn on her bedroom lamp and will have that light heading down the hall as she heard to bed. I just bought a second for her to use in her bedroom too and one for myself. Mine is to use a dimmable color light bulb. And I saw it will work with a new receiver I bought and I've really liked using it for hands free answering questions, listening to music, and even generating soothing sleep sounds! I'm using it for more and more all the time!

I jumped into the smart speaker world with this little echo dot unit. I have been very impressed at the quality of its voice recognition and ability to control other smart equipment (like my smart outlet and integrate into my Sonos audio). The speaker itself is not very good, but I have this push audio out of my Sonos. I personally would not rely on it for streaming music, but it's probably okay for listening to podcasts and talk radio. You can read plenty of reviews elsewhere on the pros and cons of Amazon's Alexa. Overall I've been pleased but here and there Alexa can be frustrating, and some streaming services/capabilities are not supported, but overall this product works great.

The Echo Dot is so handy. Super easy to install and program. The volume can go very high. Alexa hears you no matter how low your voice is and she will onlyn activate when her name is called.

These Echo Dots add fantastic. The sound quality is great and the low price you cannot beat. We have multiple Echos throughout our home and use it daily. Highly recommend getting one of these if you can. There is not much bass in these small units so don’t expect a very large sound, but it works very well.

I bought this, originally, for my husband, but Alexa has truly become a family gift. I have 6 children living at home and I am constantly repeating myself all day, every day, to get their jobs done. I have programmed their daily lists in Alexa, so now all they have to do is ask Alexa what their jobs are and SHE can repeat it all day long instead of me. They, also, log what they've done so it gets done. The fun part was putting my own fun sayings in, so when they finish, it's funny, cheesy sayings instead of the old "good job". This is my favorite feature, but there is more. We love it!

We went a little crazy outfitting our house with Echo devices last year when they were on sale at Christmastime. We LOVE them! We already had a fully built Sonos system through our house, so we don’t use the built in speaker for music listening, but it’s amazing how these little devices make our lives so much easier. Alexa can play music on our Sonos devices, adjust the thermostat, turn the lights on and off, and a lot more. We have one in our kids room and love the FreeTime feature that reads stories and plays simple games with our son. And you can’t beat the price. Even bought one as a gift for my mother-in-law and she loves it in her little condo. Highly recommend.

Sleek, attractive and functional are easily three ways to describe the Echo Dot... Added streaming of various services to other areas of the house. Easy setup and great sound make it a joy to use.

My daughter loves it, talks to a It constantly in her room and she plays music pretty loud on it. Connects easily with phone. Easy to use and great price.

What’s not great to say about this?! Kids love to listen to music on it and for such a small device, the sound volume and quality are excellent!

I love this product! It is loud in general, but great for music but specially for an alarm. Can be controlled by the app and by voice. Has so many great features.

This is a great technological addition to any home. Great entry level piece into the Amazon Echo family. I would recommend other units with screens such as the Echo Show. It connects with Ring system and smart sockets. Additionally, it can play music through spotify, etc. Overall, nice unit.

This is our 5th Echo dot to join our home and we love it! Still finding new uses which helps our 8 yo as she keeps quizzing it for what it can't do... Believe me it can be educational for us all. I love that I can use it as a speaker or take it with us if when we travel. Around the home it can be placed anywhere that a power source is available. Used often & really a great item to have around. Awesome quality & fits in with the decor, it also blends in so we'll most people do not even notice it unless I have the mic turned off. That red ring is obvious... Easy to connect, use & a helper to our family... Another great buy at Best Buy...

The Amazon Echo Dot is a favorite in my household. Despite its small size, it’s powerful and delivers impressive sound quality.

The Echo Dot 3rd Gen is excellent. I have way too many Echo devices, and the size, sound, and price for this one is the best, IMO. I highly recommend it.

After long consideration between an echo dot and a Bluetooth speaker, I went with the Echo Dot. It was easy to set up if you are familiar with Amazon and cell phones. It has a mic-off button that has come in very handy with grandchildren who understand how talking to "Alexa" can give all sorts of information. Overall, it is perfect for my small apartment.

Ok, I got this one for myself, actually, but, this thing made my daughter's day as soon as she saw it and ... yeah, now it is her best friend. I did not even know my daughter had so many questions as she asked the Dot, and of course - she gets all the answers :) Very useful. From music, to weather, to controlling smart home devices, alarms, or just jokes or anything! This is a must for every home!!! I cannot believe the quality of music/bass this little thing has. Very good wireless speaker! Very quick set up with an app and - there you have it! One more person in a house! WE LOVE IT!

Very easy to set up and use in my apartment, helps me stay up to date on calendar events, weather, alarms, and easy to set timers for laundry and cooking. I use it to keep my shopping list together easily as a personal assistant, but also use it to play music at parties/when I study. The built in speaker is great, but I mostly use it plugged into a larger stereo speaker system in the living room. Great for college students.
