This is the best deal there is, bought many of these for christmast gifts and everybody was enchanted, and for just $15 dlls definitely this was a very smart purchase. Kept one for my room and just pairs perfectly with the more expensive one that´s on the kitchen. I like this one better because both work very well but this one is cheaper.

It a nice size and it’s loud and reliable but the only thing is that my cord I have to keep it charge too the base which I would pills to take it everywhere with me

The Amazon-Echo Dot 3rd Generation is a great sounding smart device for the the money. The sound is an upgrade from previous versions. Its compact size is an added plus as it does not overpower a small table or area. Excellent for smaller rooms. With the Alexa app you are able to adjust he sound and other features. For the money, it is a great value. I have 3 of the Echo Dots and an Amazon Studio which is good for larger rooms.

Sound quality is the best I've heard on a speaker of this size!!! Definitely worth paying a little extra for this one over the 2nd generation model. I'm not going to discuss the functionality as there's tons of info already out there. One important note: If you set up the Alexa app on your phone, IT WILL IMPORT ALL OF YOUR PHONE CONTACTS. I didn't think I gave it permission to do so but Alexa did indeed import my contacts! You may have read stories how, WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE, Alexa can record what's being said in your home and then send it to ANY or ALL of those contacts! Yikes! And, I won't want any of my kids to accidentally send messages to or call people on my contact list. So, if you want to keep your contacts from Alexa and prevent that from happening here's how I did it: Before installiing the Alexa app on your phone, export your contacts to a file and save it for later. Then, go back to the phone and delete those contacts (don't worry, you'll import them back in later). Now, install the Alexa app on your phone and go through the set up process. At some point, you'll have the option to allow Alexa to automatically import any additions to your contacts. Please "disable" that option. After you're done with the installation, you'll notice there are no contacts in your Alexa app! Now, you can import your contacts back into your phonebook using the file that you initially created and you're good to go! If you already installed the app but want to delete your contacts from Alexa, it's not too late. Simply export your phone contacts to a file and save for later. Then, delete the contacts from your phone. Now, open the Alexa app and click "Contacts." On the Contacts page, click on "Import Contacts" and enable it by moving the button to the right side. This will cause Alexa to replace your existing contacts with the now empty phonebook. After a few minutes, your Alexa contacts will be gone. Go back and disable "Import Contacts" to prevent Alexa from importing them in the future. You can now import the contact file that you created back into your phone. Of course there may be some contacts you do want to use with Alexa. I simply added them manually by clicking "Add Contact."

It's been extremely reliable. Very few times has it misheard it's name or not had an accurate response. It's great to be able to play music anywhere in the house since we decided to buy a second. At first the idea of having one was more to just be able to say we had one, but the kids love using it and asking goofy questions, and being able to make announcements or tell Alexa to turn off our lights or adjust the thermostat is our new norm... Can't wait to see where technology takes us. The next generation is going to be so lazy... We are doomed. lol

When your hands are full Alexa is there to help. Need an alarm set, no problem. Want to hear your favorite music? Just say the word!

I like this about the echo dot, aux out facility, easy to connect, Long cable, multi room music, it is small and still a nice speaker.

DO I NEED IT - NO. DO I LIKE IT - YES. I HAVE AN ALEXIA, BLINKXT CAMERAS, SMARTTHINGS HUB, LOGITECH HUB AND VARIOUS SMARTHINGS SENSORS. I DON'T NEED ANY OF IT, BUT THEY ARE SO NICE - HONESTLY. START OFF WITH ALEXIA. THIS ONE HAS A GOOD QUALITY SPEAKER AND IS A GOOD VALUE. JUST WATCH A 3 YEAR OLD WHO IS LEARNING TO TALK, TALK TO ALEXIA! THAT IS WORTH IT RIGHT THERE! A SURPRISINGLY NICE FEATURE IS THE DROP IN FUNCTION, YOU'LL SEE.... FUN, EASY TO USE, LOTS AND LOTS OF THINGS THAT THIS ONE CAN DO.

Bought a second Echo after I we moved. My kids love talking to this device. I switch it off when I don’t want to be eavesdropped on. I love to listen ring to music via Alexa Echo and quickly ask the weather, get a answer via the internet, etc. A must have at a decent price!

I bought this 3rd Gen Alexa Echo Dot because I have Bose Soundtouch speakers throughout my house and this is a way to control them. It was half price on special so I thought I’d give it a go. So now I say Echo “tell me the news”, Echo “What time is it”, Echo, play some Jazz in the kitchen”, “Echo when is the Full Moon”, “Echo add bread to my shopping list” etc etc all day long. Echo /Alexa can usually understand me from the next room or even the kitchen when I realise I need something that is not in the fridge. With the Alexa app, Echo makes lists for me for music, shopping and more, and when I go shopping it is so easy to one touch tick off the item from the Alexa app once you put it in your trolley. Echo can tell jokes, stories, do math, do conversions, Turn my speakers on and off, set alarms, control my volume and even when I’m too tired to open my eyes, she tells me the time in the middle of the night when I ask, time of sunrise and sunset, temperature etc. Yep, my Alexa, which I renamed to Echo in the app, is the little smart speaker with big sound and lots of intelligence. The 2 downsides, News flashes can run for 30mins or more (but you can skip, pause, and skip back or cancel, and you have to connect by Bluetooth if you want all of echos features and sounds coming out of Bluetooth speaker. (Direct line out is limited in sound, but as the Bluetooth won’t pick up my soundtouch speakers, I just have it connected to wi-fi for commands and the sound quality of the Echo dot is good enough on it’s own. Connect to my iPhone 7 fine as a speaker. I am going to buy a white 3rd Gen Alexa Echo dot with clock for my bathroom so Echo can read me the news while I’m on the toilet, all voice activated. Finally Amazon have a 24hr free helpline for Alexa and they are moderately patient and helpful, some staff more than others.

I have added several smart devices to my home over the past few months. The ECHO Dot was one of the easiest to get connected. I also don't have any issues with it dropping its wifi connection, as some of the other non Amazon products do. Although I purchased it for several features, my favorite is playing music, surprisingly. I am not a huge audiophile, but these little devices put out great sound.

I’ve always been big early tech adopter, but for various reasons I’ve avoided any kind of smart voice assistant integration for years. After finally getting an echo dot third gen, I love it. It really makes you feel like you’re living in Star Trek where you can talk to your computer. The design is nice and compact and the sound is very good for its size. With the 3.5mm audio jack you can also use it to make your standar speakers “smart” and available for streaming.

Echo Dot has improved it sound however I just love this little thing it helps me keep in touch with my kids I love it because I can create a shopping list play music drop in which allows me to listen in on my kids when I am away from home this is something I feel everyone should own it your own little personal assistant keeps up with task reminders if you like to read books or listen to books on tape it could read you books tell you bedtime stories jokes keep you up-to-date with the traffic whether this is just a good little gadget

I bought this for my elderly mom. She wanted to listen to music but can't really navigate the phone apps to do that. This is perfect. I love that she can easily voice what she wants and absolutely LOVE the sound quality. Crystal clear and the bass is also great, perfect for entertaining (well, when we were able to do that, not now). Alexa is not only used for Amazon features, but if you look up what commands she responds to, there's many other things she's helpful with, which is great

Finally got this little toy and I am impressed with it. I can listen to amazon music or my audible books with no issues. Just got a smart bulb and it connected with no issues allowing me to turn it on from another room, very nice. It was very easy to setup, it walks you through everything. :) Don't forget to shut off sidewalk sharing, if left on it will give easy access to your Wi-Fi network!

Bought a TV as a gift and this came with it. It's the 7th one my mom has in her house now and loves it. She went from resisting a smart home to barely touching any light switches but her favorite part is the music. only thing that could be better is how long it will wait for a command. She's not young and takes sometimes longer than the device has patience to wait for her to finish her thought.
