I love this little Alexa ! Small size, easy to move around. Works great and the sound is good too

Awesome little speaker! Compact east to use. Loud enough to use at a party

I received my 1st one as a gift for Christmas 2018, and didn't really understand all they can do . I now have 7 of them, 6 in the house and 1 in the garage!! They're THAT useful, they play music, Alexa entertains me, answers questions, sets alarms and controls all the "Smart Home" stuff, not to mention being just plain fun and getting better with new skills all the time....wow, what's not to like? Can't live without Echo/Alexa now... !!!!!!

I love its petite size for my bathroom. It's my alarm and it tells me the weather each day.

I have put off getting any kind of smart speaker but finally caved when i saw these on sale for 25 bucks. Boy am i glad i did though. This little thing is incredibly convenient, saving me time when i just ask alexa something i would have had to pull my phone out for, and playing my music from spotify or any song i want it to play whenever i ask. The speaker quality is impressive for being so small and having so much utility packed into such a small package. Overall a great buy.

Once you get the hand of using Alexa you will wonder how you functioned with out her. Okay perhaps not as vital as a cell phone but I have my Alexa bluetoothed to my philo hue light bulbs all over the house. In our 2 bedroom apartment / condo we have 3 Alexa’s. (Kitchen, master BD room and living room) She controles by voice command or app. She can be placed on schedule for auto lights turn on and off or immediate response. She compañía le with Xbox and many other blue tooth items such as plugs (I use for coffee pot). She also can set timers, keep track of grocery list by adding items via voice command and or app. Tell me weather and news. She plays my music list or audio book and for those who want to do silly things with her you have suggestions and options.

Man! this little device is super awesome! Just wish there was a clock display though.

I've been a happy owner of a 2nd generation Echo and three 2nd generation Echo Dots for a year now, and I was glad to add this to the arsenal. After using it for a few days I am generally pleased with it, but it does have limitations, especially when it comes to sound quality (no surprise there!). I will start by summarizing what's new about the 3rd Generation Dot, then I'll describe the device in more detail, and finally I'll add some thoughts about how to choose which Echo device may be best for you. The most obvious update to the Dot is the new look: it's as if someone took a 2nd generation Dot, inflated it with an air pump, and wrapped the edge in fabric. And it's not bad! What's different/updated in the 3rd Generation Dot: 1) It is slightly larger than the 2nd generation device, measuring 3.9" wide x 1.7" tall (2nd gen was 3.3" wide x 1.3" tall), and the top and bottom edges are more rounded. It is also substantially heavier at nearly twice the weight of the 2nd generation model. 2) The 2nd generation Dot came in two color options (black and white), each of which had a shiny plastic exterior that I personally thought looked a little cheap. The 3rd generation Dot has a fabric exterior which gives it a classier appearance, and it's available in three colors: heather grey, sandstone, and charcoal. The fabric and rounded edges give the 3rd generation Dot a much softer look than its predecessor. 4) The 3rd generation Dot has a larger speaker (1.6", versus 1.1" on the 2nd gen), which is paired with a larger driver as well. I'll talk below about the effect this has on audio quality. 5) The placement of the microphones is slightly different: while the 2nd generation had seven small far-field microphones on its top surface; the 3rd generation has four microphones.

Black Friday super deal. Better speaker and nicer looking than first generation dot. Very easy to install with app. Many newer styles and sizes but I prefer this smaller unit

This product does an unbelievable job getting you started on the path to converting to a smart home. It's a simple 1st step for the novice, to experience what smart home technology is currently able to do and what will be coming In The future. On the lighter side, the speaker produces a really quality sound throughout the entire room when you stream the internet. I would have never guessed the quality and volume could be produced from such a small device. Highly recommend

I was skeptical at first, but not now. I like my two echos. And Alexa connects them for stereo surround sound. The only difference is one is white and the other black. Alexa wakes me up in the morning, reminds me to call my friends, records my shopping list, and there is lots more. Plus Alexa's voice is calm and soothing. I like my echo's with Alexa. Oh ya, and Alexa can guard your home against co2 and certain unusual loud sounds. Like breaking glass.

We got this as a free item with purchase. It was very easy to setup and operate and our whole family has enjoyed using it. The sound quality is really good and I have been impressed by how far away I can stand and speak in a normal voice and it still hears me (as in telling a child what to say to Alexa kind of far away and Alexa hears me and does what I said so the child doesn’t have to repeat it). When you activate a skill you do have to pay attention to the exact language that you need to use to activate the skill. In terms of smart speakers, I wasn’t necessarily in the market for one because our phones have very good voice activation that really meets that need for us, but since this one was free with purchase, I will say it is nice to have the speaker for our family. Alexa listens to anyone who says her name, whereas my phone only listens to me, that means Alexa can entertain my kids screen free or answer their questions (great for checking math homework and random questions they have that I would normally ask my phone on their behalf). We don’t have any smart devices (besides the doorbell it came with that won’t work with this model because it doesn’t have video), so we haven’t really maximized our use of it yet (I’m thinking a smart plug for the Christmas lights), but we really are enjoying it so far even if it isn’t vital. The thing I most often use it for is playing music when I’m cooking or cleaning. It would make a great gift for the person who has everything but one of these.

This is the best dot yet. I bought one with a clock from Amazon and it's stupid. This one is perfect, answers all my questions, volume is great. I can be in the other room and ask it something and it answers perfectly. Once I couldn't find my phone and I asked Alexa to call me, and she did! Nice device.

The Echo Dot generation two, is definitely a must have! The black gives it such a nice luck… It’s very small so you can fit it in almost any space needed. Not only does Alexa brighten my day with jokes, she told me up and packed every day I wake up. If you don’t like the name Alexa you can also change it to anything that you need it to be. For instants, the week of them could be echo . It’s a great stocking stuffer. Wouldn’t think twice when purchasing! And having one isn’t enough! You’ll grow to love it!

I have used Alexa on another devices , so I bought this new 3rd generation Alexa echo dot and it’s awesome ! You can do just about anything with this little gadget, from listening music to turn on/off your lights ( smart plug needed) all with just your voice, making your house smart and easy to control. Plug in your Alexa echo follow instructions and with the help of Alexa app you’re set. The sound on the speaker is great , also you don’t really need to be that close to the echo dot for Alexa to hear you.

Quick easy setup. Answers all my questions. Sleek design. Sound is great. Can't beat the price.

Have enjoyed watching the kids ask it questions about homework. I’ve used it to track purchases, and it can control the FireTv I got for the girls room. Very nifty little thing. Don’t know how we went without it for so long! Plays radio while we make dinner also. Has a ton of features I’d not even considered using,

My wife bought me a single white gen 3 dot for Christmas. When she mentioned it to me, I didn't think much about it and thought cool ... I'll look into it I guess. Since getting it for Christmas, I loved it so much I bought an Echo plus, and 2 of these charcoal dots. I use one of these in the kids room and the other in our office. I like that each dot, depending on the room it is assigned to, can quickly control the immediate devices in that room, as well as other devices assigned to other rooms.
