We already have an Echo Show for the bedroom, but quite frankly, it's mostly the speaker part we use more than the screen, mostly for Pandora and Podcasts. I got the 3rd gen Echo dot to use in the bathroom as a satellite "radio" I can control by voice from the bathtub and/or take with me for travel. The sound is excellent for such a small size and the blue-green ring is very nice, especially in a darkened room. List price is a bargain, but getting it at one of the Amazon sale periods is a total steal!

I am so amazed at the Amazon Echo Dot 3rd generation. It is like having a personal assistant right on my nightstand. I can set up alarms, ask tons of questions & get the answers I need immediately. The sound quality is very surprising for such a small speaker, plus you can request it to play tons of different songs. Of course the best part is the fantastic price offered by Best Buy for this item which is why I'd never shop anywhere else for any & all electronic item for myself or as gifts for others.

I had no idea I'd love Alexa so much - I wake up in the morning and she does the routine I've set up, and she's so comforting and useful and fun overall. My husband and I played Skills trivia games for hours last night. If we had kids it would be even more super useful (kids workouts, stories, games) - we even had a goodnight story read to us by Alexa and it was awesome. I'm really loving it. The Echo Dot itself is pretty great - the sound quality is pretty good, the bass when turned up is not that great, but if you really want to rock out you can connect it to other speakers or just use something else instead. I'm really surprised by how much I like the Alexa app (and the Echo Dot), because I'm a little resistant to technology, but it's pretty easy to figure out and feels like a new little buddy in the home. I'm excited to get some SmartHome stuff now so I can turn on/off lights, heat, etc. The only tiny issue I have is that for some reason Alexa doesn't pick up my husband's voice as much as it does mine - maybe because I've used it more? Really cool, though, overall - I feel like Judy Jetson!

Great sound for a small speaker and at a good price. I recommend this product to everyone. Very Easy to use.

Got this for my 90 year old dad who lives alone. He loves the echo. Asks it questions, checks the weather, stocks, sports scores, plays music. Another form of entertainment. And extremely easy to use. I set it up for him, got it tied into the internet, made sure the volume was high enough, and my dad took it from there. A powerful, inexpensive form of entertainment.

Great Sound for little speaker, especially when using with Wi-Fi/Internet. Easy to set up individually. Download app for adding more for whole home simultaneous play. Alexa has many, many features and will take time to lean. Amaonzon will periodically send emails (if you sign up) providing additional command recommendations, etc. Con: Always listening (can easily turn off) and sends info to them on your commands (for learning and making improvements, etc).

This echo product sound good for the size and has same features as it big brothers. The new mesh fabric is very nice looking.

I LOVE HER!! The set up was so easy and Alexa is everything! She controls my tv, my lights, my music, I wish she could close the door and take out the trash I probably would marry her. At least attempt, the world is not ready for that yet. No problems and I travel with her even!!

This sounds better than all the screen based Echos I've had, and they're a fraction of the cost. I guess when Amazon puts a screen in something, they have to use a speaker out of a 1956 record player, but not fortunately, not with these. These have pretty good sound. You're not going to get all wiggidy whack with fresh beats on this, but for a tiny little speaker, it holds it own pretty well. They hear you great, and help you get up in the morning, turn on and off lights (accessories not included), and sometimes open the garage, when the garage accessory (sold separately) actually feels like communicating with it (1 out of about 1,256 times). So there you go - If you like Amazon, and subscribe to their stuff, get this. If you like Google, and subscribe to their stuff, get that. If you're like me, and just don't want to be pigeonholed, and want every square inch of your house monitored by the NSA? Buy them all, and buy several. Buy every. single. kind. I have ~4k^2 ft in my house, so you can just imagine how many I have. The one benefit, when you get the screen kind, is that the government can watch over you, and your house, at will, as well. So, security and protection, all for the price of a cup of coffee, every day, for 1 to 3 months (or 2 weeks, if you drink coffee from Starbucks). If you happen to be on a watch list, the government will know when intruders break in, before you do! Want dog food tomorrow? Order it by talking! Your kids could prank you, and buy 20 of them, if you don't set it up correctly! That would be funny, am I right? But in conclusion, as a unit, this one's great. It sounds good, hears good, and does what you need it to do. The NSA approves too.

Nice sound for a small speaker. Easy to set up and like with other dots in the house. Excellent for price and functionality.

We bought 2 more after our first! We have it in our bedroom for alarm, ambiance and music, we have one in our kitchen for music while we work, and one in our bathroom for shower music. They work great! My kids love playing with Alexa too, she tells them jokes, plays hide and seek, tells stories, and they probably ask her 1000 questions a week! As a family we truly enjoy our Alexa and will probably be buying at least one more.

I purchased a tv and received this as a gift with it and man let me tell you for a small little speaker this thing is legit. It plays my music, i set up an alarm and it doesnt scare the life out of me when it wakes me up. I love the color changing effect too. Overall would recommend to anyone

I was always skeptical about whether or not Amazon Echo was worth the money. Well BestBuy had a great deal with the purchase of one of their FireStick TVs so I didn't have to directly go out and buy one. This little smart speaker is a gem. It makes simple things like checking the weather, playing music, or setting reminders that much simpler. You don't even have to lift a finger. I guess it's a millennial's dream lol. I never knew I needed one until I got one.

Let me see five dots and a show unit, what do you think? I must like this product or I’d like to yell at the Alexa a lot. In actuality I just wish I can change the name to my ex-wife because then it would be worth it LOL I’m just kidding the best part is the music and alarms for my child when appointments come up. The multi room music and intercom system is the best features to me. But don’t take my word for it I only have six of them.

Great size to have on a night stand, it is also loud enough! you cant beat the price as well.

I like the way this echo dot looks, much sleeker and does not look out to place like my old echo dot. I bought some smart lights for my room and I am slowly adding more smart devices. I use it every day to set alarms, timers, dim/turn on lights and can even understand both English and Spanish. You just add another language and you can talk to it in either Spanish or English without having to switch the language every time.

I already have an Amazon Echo for the house which sits in my living room and kitchen but during Black Friday I found the dots on sale for half price so I immediately picked up to for the kids bedrooms. They like it, it is easy to use, the voice is clear, and the music is loud when played the request for my children. Over all extremely satisfied with the product. The ease-of-use inability to sync it to a phone app help get a lot of use out of the product.

Received this for free as a Labor Day sale promotion for purchasing a new Fire TV. Set up is easy and functions as well as my gen 1 Echo - - I placed this in my kitchen to be used for listening to music and also as a timer or for any other need that arises - - Sound is obviously not as good as the full size Echo, but it still sounds good enough to enjoy music through. Plays well with other connected devices in my house, ie: Philips Hue, Sony smart TV.... etc.

This is our 4th Alexa device for our home and for our son's room. Device is small enough to fit inconspicuously in room. We use it to play music, to intercom from room to room, and amazingly for many quick internet searches, such as sports stats and results, history of people and events, and proper spelling of difficult to spell words. These are only a few things we use Alexa/Echo for. We're not concerned if and whether big brother is listening.
