I received the Echo at a special price with my video doorbell. I now have an automated house and still learning all the neat voice commands I can use to accomplish various things in my house. Listen to radio, please 20 questions, change the channels on my tv, ask general questions that come up in conversations, ask for the weather and even how long it's going to take me to get from my home to a destination. I've now purchased an additional one for upstairs and even a electric plug that now controls my lights on a schedule. More things to come I'm sure but this is the start of a whole new adventure.

I bought this to replace a second generation dot. It seems to have better speakers than the second gen. also a little larger in size I am very satisfied with it.

I swore I would nt use it! But this Alexa thing is great! Easy to operate and love listening to music and controlling my TV hands free. Imp a convert!

Used it for ones of the rooms and it works great and very easy to use with no problems, connects to everything perfect with no issues

I got this as a gift for myself that came with the smart light bulb just to see how these things work. It was pretty easy to setup and not to hard to get the bulb to work by telling the dot to turn on/off the light and change the colors of the bulb light. The dot is small so you can place it just about anywhere. The sound quality isn't really good but you can understand what the dot is saying ok. It does more things than I was expecting. I was replacing the invoke which had excellent sound in comparison to the dot. The Invoke was discontinued so I need to replace it with another smart speaker and the Echo dot seems to work much better and is smarter than the Invoke but doesn't sound as good. I will probably buy a larger Echo at sometime.

I have both the 2nd generation of the Dot and now the 3rd generation. The 3rd gen improves upon the 2nd in almost every way. The look of the 3rd gen is much nicer than that of the previous model. The cloth and matte finish on the top look far classier than the previous model with its fingerprint prone shiny surfaces. Most importantly, the sound quality has been greatly improved. While this will never rival the larger Echo products in volume or sound quality, compared to last years model, it is night and day different. The audio sounds much more rich and intelligible. Listening to music, radio, or podcasts are much more enjoyable and far less tinny than with the older Dot. For those that have a 2nd gen Dot, I would not upgrade if you don't use it for music, radio, or have it hooked to a stereo or set of speakers. But, if you use it regularly relying on the internal speakers for music, podcasts, etc, I would definitely consider upgrading. Especially if you can get it on one of Amazon's many sales.

I've had a original and gen 2 Dot and by far the gen 3 is so much better. Sound is an upgrade from past dots and I prefer the sleeker look compared to the past gen's.

started with one dot.. now I have in 5 rooms. Great sound.. and love simple.. voice command to listen to cool jazz, my stones or just get updates.

Needed an echo for another room and wanted it a little less obvious than the new 4th gen. I actually like the 3rd gen much better

Amazon's Echo Dot looks good and sounds great. With vastly improved audio, it's now a distinctly better smart speaker than the Google Home Mini, and can replace the larger $99 Echo for less picky folks. That makes it our Editor's Choice for entry-level smart speakers.

I got an echo through a promotion a while back. We use them all the time now to play music throughout the house so I purchased more. They sound great and are soo user friendly. I bought cases for them that plug in and hold them on the wall. I also love the charcoal color.

Easy to setup and use. love how well connected to other devices these have become. My gripe is with Amazon music - each time you request any song, you get the timeshare pitch about upgrading (with a monthly fee) to get the exact music you want. Otherwise, all good.

I like the deeper volume/bass the 3rd gen has over the first gen. Setup is very easy and there are so many more uses than music, weather, jokes, alarms and ...more!

This smart speakers is amazing it has great sound and works with popular music streaming apps. Setup is very simple and pair with phone is also easy.

The echo is great to have around the house and makes our life easier in so many ways. It is compact but still packs a nice boom for listening to music.

These little speakers are fun to use. Excellent sound and easy to set up. I've got one sitting on my hobby bench and listen to SiriusXM all the time.
