First of all why in the world do I need to have 50 word minimum ?? I've NOT given reviews for this very reason ! I would think any review you would want to hear........... This is plain goofy to me ! Well as to the purchase of the Amazon - Echo Dot (3nd Gen)- Smart Speaker with Alexa -Charcoal. I really enjoy it. I would tell others to get one. I do plan on buying another one. Hope this meets with the 50 characters. Thank you. PS - fixt that 50 thing. You will either get no ans. back or some body just going on to meet it .................................................................

This echo dot has great sound for a small $18 speaker. I set these all around my house and they work like an intercom system. So convenient when calling the kids for dinner. Music sounds great too.

This 3rd gen can ACTUALLY be used as a speaker. The first two generations were only good for voice IMO. But this one packs a bigger size and sound. Honestly its what the first generation should have been to begin with.

Initially got the echo for Christmas and didn’t think it was a need, until we hooked it up to a hard to reach lamp. Since then we’ve bought the Echo Dot for our bedroom, as well as several Smart plugs and Smart bulbs for around the house. Having our lamps and even our Christmas tree activated by voice command is such a game changer. Life is so much easier now, especially with our hands full holding baby. We can dim the light with our Smart bulb for night feedings and even change the light to all sorts of colors just for fun. We can play music from Pandora over the Echo, play all sorts of games and even ambient sounds for baby when she sleeps. No need for any other sound machine or gadgets. We don’t know how we ever lived without it. The hubs and I definitely recommend this product. Even bought a couple as gifts.

I love how easy and useful it is. It saves me time and effort to look for music and control my others devices. Very affordable!

Alexa resists some queries, either shutting down, or saying, "I'd rather not answer that", or she does not know. She is good at reminders. You can make many repeat reminders of the same thing. She plays many different song requests with ads breaking in. She turns light on/off, dims/brightens lights, she says "you're welcome", or "you bet", or "anytime" when I say thank you. She tells me the time, date when I ask her. She tells me news, history, all kinds of information. Alexa also learns from the users. Sometimes I unplug my bedroom Echo Dot so she does not tell me an early reminder if I want to sleep longer. Plus I turn off my router and modem. Gotta have some solitude.

Echo Dot is great. This device can play music, control home devices, answer questions, set an alarm, connect to your calendar and give you updates and alerts to upcoming appointments.

I actually got this thing FREE when I purchased my TV from Best Buy! I really haven't ever had any interest in these "smart" devices. But you know what? It's been a great little device! I'm able to control my TV & Fire Stick with it, listen to music and check the weather with it as well. And the fact that I got it for free sits really well with me too! Overall, it's been a great addition to the living room!

SO MUCH FUN! Nice to be able to ask it things like the weather, definitions, news, etc. Loud speaker. And works great with Alexa app/Amazon music to control other devices connected to your account.

Liked my Echo. I didn't know how to use this at first but my young daughter helped me set it up. I like that I can play music on it. It has many features but that is what I mostly use it for.

Before we had this thing we just didn't really care about these fancy smart home devices thingies. Now we can't imagine our daily little tasks without Echo's help. She controls the house's temperature ( obviously, after we tell her to do so); she takes notes, setup timer, makes phone calls, search random stuff in the internet etc. The best part is: She is the only one in the house that listens to me. Cons: If you have more than one Alexa enabled device in the house, you will have to give them different names, and I think there are only four or five names that you use to call them. So let's say you have an Alexa enabled thermostat and and Amazon Echo dot nearby and they are both called Alexa. It happens that every time you call Alexa, both your thermostat and Echo will respond and operate at the same time.

Love how I can connect to this little gadget when I’m not home, near home or even in the same state as home. Great intercom for the house. Integrated perfectly with my ring system and very informative. Can’t wait to get 2 more.

I decided to purchase a 3rd Gen Echo Dot for my office. I enjoy using the Echo Dot as it doesn't take up much space and is informative when I need something, i.e. play music, turn off the lights, etc. The newer generation dot is great!

I like how it is easy to set up. You just follow the steps. Its has a pretty good speaker as well. Loud enough for us indoors. My kids and I dance around all the time! Fun to use. Bought and extra two for the parents!

We have three different Echo devices (this dot, a 5, and an 8 inch Echo Show) and this one is great to just have in every room for Alexa access. The speaker is adequate (the Shows have more robust sound), and it hears you clearly. Sometimes it does think you're saying "Alexa" when you're actually saying something like "Well, let's go...", but that is more amusing than annoying. It's the cheapest way to get into the smart home game, and paired with the Alexa app, it's really easy to get started.

Love my echo very convenient for lots of things . Wakes me up in the morning. I also use it to make calls to my children even program it to call 911 in case I can’t get to cellphone. Love listening to my music thru my dot

These are super compact and sound way better than the 1st gen ones I had before. It sounds better than some of the older dedicated speakers I had. Very compact and easy to put and hide around the house too

I don't care of the NSA spies on me with it. I have nothing to hide. Comes in hand and has a ton of commands. Kids love playing music and telling jokes. I can't wait until Samuel L. Jackson voice replaces Alexa's voice.

Purchased this speaker when I purchased the Echo. Excellent quality sound when used with the Echo. Easy to connect and use. Quality sound for the entire room.
