Enjoy using this device, easy to program, compact size allows for placement anywhere, lots of features!

Useful and it seems to do all the same exact things the newer 4th gen models do. Docked 1 star only because the speaker quality is not as good as the 4th gen models which makes it not as good for playing music. If this is important to you, go for the 4th gen model. It is a little cheaper than the 4th gen model, so you get what you pay for on the speaker quality. If you don’t listen to music on your smart speakers, then this is a non-issue and it can save you a couple bucks. I only got this model because it was bundled on a promo deal with an Insignia TV I bought. I already had several of the 4th gen models to compare with.

Works great with my tv’s. I love it. It was easy to connect and no problems with working with my wifi

At the request of a nursing home activity director, I purchased four Amazon - Echo Dot (3rd gen) devices as gifts for some nursing home residents. It's a great device to provide residents with many listening options. Aside from connecting the device to WiFi the voice activated use is simple and easy. If my budget would have allowed it then I would have purchased more than 4 devices.

We bought two of these. We have the large one and these are two additional little ones. One is used mainly for a speaker to play music in a workout room and the other one is in the bedroom. We have it paired with a couple smart bulbs so it is nice to be able to turn on the lights with our voice when entering the room. It is also convenient if we remembered something to add to the grocery list or to play sleepy music at night.

The sound quality is much improved over the earlier generation Amazon Echoes. You get more volume and better base tones.

The sound is amazing for such a small speaker and low price. Alexa is leaps and bounds ahead of Siri. Must buy. I have 3 now.

My mom loved to ask Alexa to do things like play music , ask questions , the weather . Great speaker .

It works just like my echo dot 2nd generation but is definitely louder and has a more refined look due to the fabric exterior

Better sound than 2nd Gen but still should use with better speakers for music. Easy to link and use with sonos speakers.

Great sound quality and easy to set up and use; got it as a gift for my Dad and he loves it;

These do the job for me, mostly because I use it as only marginally more than a voice-activated music player. Is Amazon listening to my conversations? Probably, but I'm pretty boring anyway. The speaker itself is acceptable for the small size, and is easy to hide. I wouldn't say there's anything outstanding, but for a product you can regularly find for $25 or less, what do you expect?
