Got this free with another purchase and was going to give to a family but decided to try it out for fun. I plan on keeping it. I have already ordered smart plugs & lights. I used the dot along with Alexa app to set up lights, shopping lists, music & alarm. Had no plan on paying a monthly fee for music but found out my SiriusXM package for my car can be set up through the app to play on the dot. A plus. Now that I am using it I wish I had the Show 5, only because it has a 5” screen. The dot 3rd generation is a great product & if u do not need a screen you won’t be disappointed.

The Amazon Echo Dot is a good entry level smart speaker. The sound is pretty solid for a small speaker and Alexa is very ease to use with voice commands.

I have several of these and have them linked together so I can play music throughout the house. But one of the best things is asking it questions for cooking purposes, such as, "how many grams in a cup of flour" or "how many carbs in 100grams of potatoes".

Never thought id give in to the echo dot but first off, its a great little speaker for music, sound is loud enough for a small 10x10 room. She listens well to commands but you cant have the volume too high or she doesnt hear you( unless youre yelling). The echo works great with the bulbs I have in my rooms, I have the WiZ smart bulbs and thats as far as the smart devices in my home go. Ill definitely be purchasing another dot for the the kitchen. Get them when on sale, currently $20.

I never knew I needed this, but after getting one, it's been great to automate some of my daily processes, like turn on the television and it can even take me straight to Thursday Night Football. I can see me adding many more devices to it in the future.

The Dot fits in nicely to any home, providing a handy digital assistant to set up timers in the kitchen, tell you what time or day it is, and to provide a news brief for you. The Dot also fits in nicely to any smart home setup providing the ability to turn lights on and off, lock smart locks, and to even act as part of an intercom system.

Its small and cute that you can place it anywhere. Like the feature of controlling compatible devices without having to manually do anything!

Love the speaker & all the different things you can do with it. I got the device on a lack Friday special price. Even though Amazon didn't have any in stock, Best Buy honored the price & even threw in a smart lightbulb. Also took full advantage of the onsite pick up of the speaker. Very very nice feature at the stores.

Testing these out to use in some home automation for my father who is suffering from Mac Degeneration.... he's legally blind now, but can find his way around the house. Going to combine with Alexa enabled devices to help keep him more independent. Great product.

I love Siri and have a few homepods Alexa is cool also and she doesn’t mess around I can play Apple Music on her and it’s so nice to have options. I do not have a google one yet but I might as well I recommend the dot and I have a few Works great on the garage for playing music Get one of you don’t have one already Good value

Control various devices just by asking Alexa! And gives you information quickly and efficiently. It's a gadget you dont know you need until you don't have it! Simple home automation with select and additional devices (smart hubs). Sound is good too for such a small speaker, bluetooth enabled. I have 2 in my home and I think they are great.
