I just fell in love with this little thing. First one ever and I’m a big electronic person. It’s small and fits perfectly on my night stand. Controls my lights and tv. The volume is perfect for when I go to sleep with music on and perfect when I want to hear it loud not not so loud as to disturb. Nice little gadget. My brother will get me the one with a display as a gift. Can’t wait.

very practical, great sound. Setup takes a few minutes, connecting, disconnecting, wifi, password, download the app, etc, but once is all done, its great. No need to subscribe to listen to many different styles of music, get information, ask a question. Unplug and plug back in in a different area of the house. As long as is the same network, it goes with me around the house. The quality of sound is great that I really don't have to move it around. Its just preference, but it doesn't require any additional setup.

So this initially came as a gift with a FireTV. I was skeptical using Alexa because I feel like the device spies on you (and it kinda does..) and the benefits wouldn't be worth the invasion of privacy and all the risks that come with it. Well... I realized I carry my phone with me everywhere and I'm already being tracked and targeted with ads, etc. so I might as well embrace it... Since buying this device I have integrated it with all of my lights, my fishtank, my TV, and have purchased a Show along with a couple of cameras. It works great for music, general and stupid questions, asking for simple things, turning on/off lights, alarms, reminders, etc. I haven't tried any of the other Smart Home devices but this one seems to be doing a great job for the average user.

So far I am really enjoying my echo. I already have a bigger smart speaker, I thought this one would be great for travel to throw in my purse and so far I am loving it! The speaker is easy to use and easy to setup. For the quality of the product the price is set at a great price. Since I purchase this one I have purchased one more and plan on purchasing more for Christmas gifts.

I have two echo dots and love them. People are worried that Alexa is listening to you and she probably is but we're also being listened to on all our devices. When we have gatherings we all have fun with Alexa requesting music or answering questions for her. I also have her hooked up to a smart plug on a light that the switch broke. The only way to turn the light off was to climb on a stool and unplug it. Now with the smart plug and the dot, I just tell Alexa to turn the light off and on. If my dot breaks, I will be purchasing another.

I purchased some Govee LED lights from amazon and I'm able to turn it on and off through Alexa which is so much more convenient that having to unlock the phone and opening the app and manually turning it on. I also use it as I get ready and ask her for the weather forecast. It's nicer to have Alexa answer my questions rather than unlocking my phone and getting them. Also, I love the whispering voice. It's fun and convenient!

Great sound and volume range from such a small device. Doesn't take much space on shelf. Nice decor. Great price.

Once I understood how the Echo Dot worked, I purchased several for myself and my children. There are a variety of colors. The sound is crisp and clear. The set up is easy, the app is wonderful. My ex spouse lost his vision a few years ago, I purchased one for him and subscribed to Apple unlimited music, he also loves this little device that is packed with power. The price is reasonable, of course I always have rewards. Thank you Best Buy for making my family happy!

I've got Echo dots all around my house. I love this product. The interactivity with it is very simple and I have began converting my home to a smart home because of it. It integrates so well with so many other products - off-brand smart bulbs, plugs, locks, etc. I never thought I'd be lazy enough to use my voice to turn things off and on, but it really comes in handy. It's also nice to know that I can control things in my home when I'm not home from the Alexa App.

This is the second 3rd Gen Dot I've bought in addition to the numerous other Amazon Echo devices I have. I like the Dots because they're small, sound relatively good, have a great microphone array (much better than the Show 5) so Alexa can hear commands from across the room. I'm not thrilled about the design of the new Echo and Echo Dot and the sound is secondary as I use these to control various things in my home including my Sonos speakers. Used for home control, the Echo Dot 3rd Gen can't be beat.

Easy to use for multiple purposes. Cheap enough to have multiple throughout the house for convenience. Good sound for music.

I’ve had the google mini but got this for free when I bought the ring doorbell. Setup was easy and I like saying Alexa better than saying hey google. Alexa is so much more attentive when I say the name to start the request. Just a smoother product for the end user plus I purchase a lot of items on Amazon and Alexa has been making recommendations on reorders of certain products that I’ve purchased in the past and it’s one more way to assist me and my family. Bottom line, just an overall better product.

I've only had this one month, and frankly, I can't figure out all the things it will do. Perhaps it will be five stars worth when I get it all sorted out. But, it's amazingly compact - easily fits anywhere. Looks nice (and I personally love the colored lights from below while it's working LOL). It took me some time to get it figure out - the instruction page is basically worthless. But, once you catch on, it's quite easy. I wish it would also work on the tv when on the cable setting and not only the Fire TV settings - but - maybe it will and I just haven't figured out how to do it yet. The sound is very clear and it makes it known if what you want it to do is going to happen or if Alexa can't do it. Pretty cheap servant, when you get down to it!

The Dot has great sound quality for the price that I paid. It was easy to set up with the Alexa Amazon account. My son has one and he loves listening to classical music at night when he goes to bed. He likes to ask Alexa what the weather is like that day when he wakes up in the morning and what the current events are, he's eleven years old. We enjoy listening to music throughout the house too and it's easy to move around, if needed.

Sound quality is the best I've heard on a speaker of this size!!! Definitely worth paying a little extra for this one over the 2nd generation model. I'm not going to discuss the functionality as there's tons of info already out there. One important note: If you set up the Alexa app on your phone, IT WILL IMPORT ALL OF YOUR PHONE CONTACTS. I didn't think I gave it permission to do so but Alexa did indeed import my contacts! You may have read stories how, WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE, Alexa can record what's being said in your home and then send it to ANY or ALL of those contacts! Yikes! And, I won't want any of my kids to accidentally send messages to or call people on my contact list. So, if you want to keep your contacts from Alexa and prevent that from happening here's how I did it: Before installing the Alexa app on your phone, export your contacts to a file and save it for later. Then, go back to the phone and delete those contacts (don't worry, you'll import them back in later). Now, install the Alexa app on your phone and go through the set up process. At some point, you'll have the option to allow Alexa to automatically import any additions to your contacts. Please "disable" that option. After you're done with the installation, you'll notice there are no contacts in your Alexaapp! Now, you can import your contacts back into your phonebook using the file that you initially created and you're good to go! If you already installed the app but want to delete your contacts from Alexa, it's not too late. Simply export your phone contacts to a file and save for later. Then, delete the contacts from your phone. Now, open the Alexa app and click "Contacts." On the Contacts page, click on "Import Contacts" and enable it by moving the button to the right side. This will cause Alexa to replace your existing contacts with the now empty phonebook. After a few minutes, your Alexa contacts will be gone. Go back and disable "Import Contacts" to prevent Alexa from importing them in the future. You can now import the contact file that you created back into your phone. Of course there may be some contacts you do want to use with Alexa. I simply added them manually by clicking "Add Contact." I hope this info is helpful as I wasn't able to find an easy way to manage Alexa contacts.

A low cost item that is a game changer. I installed compatible switches and all my house lights are synced with Alexa. Also, she plays any music I request. I set up daily reminders. I can not remember how life was before this. LOL. Great buy!!!

It's cute. I love this design much better than the 4gen.. It looks sleeker. Easy to use, sound is great and powerful.

What it can do is only limited by your lack of imagination, and adding new skills daily. I have one in almost all my rooms now. I use them for surround sound for music. I use her for news , recipes, find my Cel phone , phone calls , intercoms, Messages, and she can add reminders on my Cel phone, operation of security cameras, smart thermostat, control lights and much more. I am always learning new skills she has new added skills almost daily and it would be hard for me live without her now. Set us is super easy. Volume control is as easy as saying Alexa volume up or down or say Alexa volume 5 for example. I think it’s like getting a new car with all the bells and whistles You didn’t really need but afterwards you can’t live without:-) What can’t she do? PS great speaker sound also
