Alexa has been useful for telling me the weather and reminding me of my schedule. The sound quality on the speaker is also great for listening to music and the design of the third generation would look aesticaly pleasimg in pretty much any room.

The same quality, I didn’t notice to much of an improvement compared with the second gen. But it is a great value. You get a decent speaker ( not like crazy loud for a large or big living room but good enough for a room or an office or even a small apartment. It is easy to use and easy to program different things like home automation or even use for other Amazon features like audible or Amazon music. Overall if you are able to snatch it for 20 dollars or less I think is a no brainer.

Echo devices are addictive! We got the first one and set it up in our living room. For the price, this thing is brilliant! We have several Dots and a couple Echo Plus units now. Apart from the normal Alexa stuff, we use them for multi-room music and as an intercom system around the house. My son has a blast asking Alexa to make farting noises and to tell him jokes. These are so affordable that you can have a lot of fun with them! The mic pickup is pretty astounding and the speaker really isn't half bad. I like that I can set them up in stereo or connect them to bluetooth speakers as well.

I honestly never wanted Alexa but this product came free with my tv so I tried it out. Now I have this product on my Christmas list because I need one for every room of my house. It's super convenient and totally fun bossing Alexa around. I paired her with the tv and the lights in my room, it was surprisingly easy. The speaker sounds great. Definitely recommend.

I purchase a TV and received this as a free add-on. Being able to ask just about any question and receive an answer is great. My kids have one in their room and I bough an echo show for kitchen, and now we can communicate with each other throughout the house. You can play music, hear the news, set alerts and alarms, etc. It's such a useful little gadget.

This is a great little device to get questions answered, play music, set as a timer... Works great paired to our ring door bell also. No need for a separate chime.

Never thought I'd own one of these things as I don't like the idea of some of piece of technology listening to my conversations but now I figure what's one more smart device. It's kinda neat and I like telling alexa to do stuff without having to pick up my phone. She plays music and answers questions- that's about as far as I've gotten.

Nothing like integrating smart home into your bathroom! I didn't think it was appropriate to to put the Echo show in there, so got the dot. I bought an and outlet bracket and this hangs off, out of the way (with the cord hidden). Great for setting a timer while getting ready or enjoying music (and singing along) in the shower.

good buy, nice sound, not to big, easy to set up and use

My first at home smart device. A little personal helper to get my day going. I have smart lights I bought with it and a smart tv a few weeks later. She starts my morning with with lights that slowly brighten(my preference), turns on the news on the tv, tells me the weather, and all with three words, "Alexa, good morning."

We have an Echo in the kitchen and a Echo Dot in each room. The setup is simple and it’s great to have music and Alexa wherever we want it, and the speaker sound and quality is very good for such a small device. They are so easy to use that even our 2 year old can tell Alexa to play songs she wants to listen to! Definitely recommend.

I've had a gen 2 Echo for about a year. I thought about getting a Dot a long time ago. But the gen 2 Dot's sound quality was tinny and not anything close to the sound quality of an Echo, and Amazon acknowledged that readily. But the new gen 3 Dot has completely revamped the sound quality. At the lower and middle volume levels (up to about level 7 on a 10 level volume system) the sound is as good as an Echo. At the top loudness levels it distorts somewhat and is not quite as good as an Echo. But I never ramp the Dot's up that loud. The Dot sound is as good as an Echo's now, and it's 1/4 to 1/3 the price. I picked up one to try out at home. It was so great that I purchased 4 more immediately. They are throughout the house and one in the garage. The quality and sound capabilities and physical design of this gen 3 Dot is a real game changer.

Very easy to set up and use. Been using it for several weeks without experiencing any issues. Clarity is excellent when listening to podcasts, news or music. Alexa is able to answer most questions. Highly recommend.

I have lived abroad in Asia for the past 6 years. I am finally back. That being said, I have not had the opportunity to experience the Alexa/Echo smart home devices. I received this free with my purchase of an Insignia Fire TV and have fallen in love with it. It's small, lightweight, but powerful enough that I can give commands from my kitchen to my master bedroom where the Echo dot is based. I was pleasantly suprised that by that. I've bought Merkury Innovations smart plugs and smart bulbs. They all work pretty well with my Echo Dot. I am waiting for the APC surge protector to arrive. Moreover, it is nice to be able to control my Fire TV handsfree with the Echo Dot. I am enjoying it so much that I have already purchased a seond Echo device.

The grandchildren are better at getting the fun out of this product. Very versatile and easy to use. I use it as a timer and weather service. Who wouldn’t enjoy some instant knowledge without starting the computer? Simple to setup and always ready to give you information or a good laugh. The fact that it was free with the TV purchase made it even more fun.
