I primarily use the Echo Dot in the bedroom. I play podcasts a lot. I also set the alarm, sleep timer and random music stations. Very cool. This Dot has much better sound quality than the older Dot I have in the bathroom. Heck, this thing even turns on my TV down stairs and puts the volume to my desired level. Got to love that. I really enjoy my Echo Dots I have. Recently we even picked up a couple Dots with the clocks on them and an Echo Show. Very cool stuff! If I had to find a complaint, I would say it is the microphone sensitivity. When I make my bed, sometimes I pull the blankets up and the wind makes the Dot go silent. Or if I set something on my night stand near it, and it makes a noise, it will make the Dot go silent. It happens enough where it bothers me, but not enough to make me unhappy. Other than that, this is pretty darn cool and we all enjoy them.

My fifth Echo. Echo Dot 3rd Gen has great sound and is a worthwhile upgrade over the Gen 2.

It makes life easy if you know how to make good use of it. I can control the smart devices in the house. I can play music in multi rooms. I can drop-in and communicate with my kids in their room. I can drop an announcement to all devices. There’s so much more!

This is my first, Amazon assistant of any kind. After using Google assistant I find them similar, but different for certain things. If you want to control things around your house, then the Amazon product is for you. If you need answers to things, Google does a much better job. The Echo setup easily and works perfect. I was able to pair several devices without issue. The sound quality is good, not great. Purchased this one sale for $25, GREAT deal!!

This product is ok if you want an entry level way into the smart home realm. Alexa works but sometimes lag a bit.
