Having two Echos in one house lead me to want a second in this house. The 4th gen Echo was being offered at a discount price along with a free smart bulb, so I got this unit. A good value, considering the sale price plus free smart bulb. Frankly, I don't like it as well as the "hockey puck" models. The larger sphere doesn't tuck away as neatly as the flat units and the activation light on the bottom is harder to see if you are close to the Echo. The sound is supposed to be marginally better that the 3rd gen units but I can't really tell a different, with them side by side. I put the new unit where the old one was and moved the old one into the kitchen. The location of the old unit actually makes it sound superior to the new unit. The gen 4, at least this one, doesn't seem to be as responsive as the other. Frequently, I have to raise my voice to get this thing to respond and, as a result, the old unit answers me instead of the one that I am only 6-8 feet away from. Personally, I prefer the gen 3.

For the price, go ahead and get the one with the clock. Nice sound.

Love these Echo dots! Kids got them for Christmas and I just hooked up the light bulb that came with them as Best Buy promotion. Now hopefully my son will no longer leave the light on in his room!

I have Alexa tower and dor already, but I bought this for my office. I love the ball style and of course everything that comes with Alexa. Easy to use and perfect addition to my office.

This is very loud, and works very well with my smart tech at home.

LOVE IT! Keep it in the bathroom and listen to music as I’m getting ready in the morning. The + and - buttons for the volume are great!! I’m buying another one! Same low price as Amazon!!

The best static free am radio. with a timer, remote volume control, alarm clock. any thing else you can ask.We tried several radios to listen to AM stations at night. All had alot of static.And no push button station selection. I then thought an alexa dot would be perfect.

Sounds louder and more bass compared to the previous version.

We bought this echo dot for my sons room and we love it he uses it a lot fir weather and timers when in school virtually can hook out to smart light bulbs and turn off light without haven to get up
