    My main reason behind buying an Echo Dot was mainly for the novelty of having a voice assistant to tell me stupid jokes. Little did I know that this purchase would kick off a newfound obsession with smart homes and freaking my cat out by turning on the fireplace while I'm at work. My daughter loves using hers to play Kids Bop, Amazon storytime, and dropping in on the living room to tell me she can see me from her bedroom. I use mine for controlling lighting (2 for 1 deal and both came with a smartbulb), catching up on news and weather before heading into work, and making my cat question her sanity. Has my echo changed my life...not really. What it has done is made my life a little bit easier by making small stupid tasks easier and a little more fun.
