I have 3 Googe speakers and a Lenova Google smart clock. I purchased this item because I wanted a clock in the living room and didn't want 2 Google devices in the same vicinity. The main issue that I have with this speaker is that it seems "hard of hearing" compared to Google's speaker. It can get frustrated having to call out to Alexa 3 time before it acknowledge you. I like that is can connect to my stereo via a 3.5 cable. I don't like that the music is somewhat limited. Some music it says it is not found but the song is available my music service.

Only 1 stayed connected to the Internet, even side by side (I renamed 1 Echo). I learned that I really didn't like 4th generation in my room. For the main room, I like it. I'm switching back to the 3rd generation in my bedroom because I can see Alexa responding (light on top). As far as sound, I don't hear a difference between the 3rd and 4th generation. The mic may be slightly better. My very first echo (gen 3) lasted about 2 years before having problems. I used it a lot and like it.
