Also like that it has a temperature sensor, so I can ask Alexa what is the temperature in the room. Sensor seems fairly accurate, although it tends to report slightly higher values than standalone sensors I use in same room).

The added bonus of a free trial of Amazon Music was impossible to activate despite calls to both Best Buy and Amazon.

The other sporadically. It would unpair itself and I would have to initiate a startup again. I am hoping it's an anomaly and will correct itself eventually. Here's hoping.

To resolve the WiFi connection problems, ensure your Echo Dot is within 30 feet of your router and download the latest Alexa app. Plug in your device, wait for the orange light ring, then open the Alexa app, tap More, select Add Device, choose Amazon Echo, and follow the setup instructions. When connecting to Xfinity WiFi, use the 2.4GHz network if available, as Echo Dot works best with this band. If the network isn't detected, restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, move your Echo Dot closer during setup, and check that Xfinity security settings aren't blocking the connection. If issues persist, reset your Echo Dot by holding the Action button for 25 seconds until the light turns orange, then try setup again. When I finally did, and realized all the cool things it could do I went out and got six more , one for every room and the garage. Great for setting alarms, timers and reminders, playing selected music, answering questions and a ton of other cool things. Don't know how they do it, but they do it well. This last one was bought as a gift.
