    The Echo Dot responds immediately to voice commands, to play music, and raising or lowering volume. Ads are played between songs, some requested songs are not free. Amazon requires a subscription. You can request music be played through Pandora with no fees.

    Alexa 5th generation is extremely nice. Has a bit better sound in base than 4th generation but not enough to replace a 4th generation. I know has a few features fourth does not have but have not tried those. Was on a terrific sale for $24.99 when purchased and reason for purchasing another.
