Small speaker, bigger personality than you'd expect. I was not expecting much from something this small and this affordable but the Echo Dot 5th Gen genuinely surprised me. The sound quality is noticeably better than older versions. It fills a room more than it has any right to, and for something sitting on a nightstand or kitchen counter it does a really solid job. Alexa is just convenient. Timers while cooking, weather in the morning, turning lights on and off, playing music while you get ready — once you start using it you kind of forget how you did without it. It hears you clearly even from across the room which was something I was worried about before buying. The charcoal color looks clean and blends into pretty much any room without drawing attention to itself. Setup took maybe five minutes. If you are already in the Amazon ecosystem this thing just slots right in. Honestly for the price it is hard to find a reason not to grab one.

I love my Echo Dot, easy to use and connect with my music apps. I love how I can set timers and ask it to play my music on my favorite music app. I also love using it for daily reminders, just ask Alexa to add and it works well. I also get notifications on my phone if I am not around to hear the reminders. I have one in my office and one in my kitchen. My son added one to the bathroom for showering.
