At least twice per day, and need to have the power cycled before they'll become active. By lock up, I mean they do not respond to voice commands, and the only buttons that work on them are volume up/down. Amazon's website will still show them online, and will restart them but the restart in this case takes between 5 to 10 minutes. (Normal power cycle restart takes about a minute.) They both always show "low connection", thought they should have some of the best connectivity in the house. I have reset both multiple times to no effect.

Posted .Hi KenO, I am sorry about the issues you are experiencing with the Echo Dot with Clock. It definitely seems like there may be a Wi-Fi issue here.
To start, make sure that your Echo device is within 30 feet (or 10 meters) of your wireless router.
Check that your Echo device is away from any devices that cause interference (such as microwaves, baby monitors, or other electronic devices).
Check that your router is working. Check the connection with another device to determine if it’s an issue with your Echo device or with your network.
If other devices can't connect, restart your Internet router and/or modem. While your network hardware restarts, unplug the power adapter from your Echo device for 3 seconds, then plug it back in. Make sure that you're using the included power adapter for your Echo device.
If other devices are able to connect, check that you are using the correct Wi-Fi password. You can also try turning off some of your other devices temporarily to reduce interference and see if that affects your Echo device's ability to connect.
If you have several devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, turn some of them off temporarily. That way you can check if multiple connected devices are impacting your Echo device's ability to connect.
Check if your router has separate network names (also called SSID) for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. If you have separate network names, try moving your device from one network to the other.
For example, if your router has both "MyHome-2.4" and "MyHome-5" wireless networks. Disconnect from the network that you’re using (MyHome-2.4) and try to connect to the other one (MyHome-5).
If your Wi-Fi password recently changed, Update the Wi-Fi Settings for Your Echo Device or Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Echo Show.
If your device is still having intermittent connection issues, Reset Your Echo Device. If these steps do not help and you are still experiencing issues, you can reach out to Amazon Customer Support 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331. Thank you again for your feedback!
