The Echo Input is an inexpensive way ($15 as of this review) to add Alexa to a speaker with ease. It is literally a dot without a speaker. I installed this on my alarm clock of all things since it accepts 3.5 mm aux cable. Now, I have Alexa in my bedroom waking me up, telling me the weather & commute times before I go to work. I stopped using the alarm on the clock in favor of asking Alexa to snooze or stop the alarm it gives. Since I have Bose speakers in the bedroom & living room, I added the Bose skill so I can play my music all over or zone it out using the Input. If you owned a dot, the shape will be familiar. If you don't need a speaker & want to start on the path to a smart home, this is a nice way to begin.

It works great with my older stereo system...easy connections...now I can control what Amazon - Echo Input has to give by my voice.. dont always have to play CDs or the radio...just ask

Good, low-cost complement for the Sonos Five speaker (it comes without an integrated mic for Alexa control). The dot would normally be needed but why have an extra speaker if it isn't necessary?

These are fun to play with. I have one plugged into a portable speaker, turns it into a smart speaker. One hidden on the porch for locking and unlocking the front door and open and closing the garage doors.

I am finding the world of home automation easier than anticipated. Products like this help me integrate my old, but valued technology, with today's realities. Easy to set-top, daddy to use. What more could anyone want?

I already had a Bose soundlink speaker and the echo input provided a very affordable means of connecting Alexa to it. It can connect either by Bluetooth or with the cord provided to the auxiliary input of the speaker.

Bought this to add Alexa to a soundbar and it works great. I am using Bluetooth instead of 3.5 mm input since it gives a better sound. It also can be used as a Bluetooth receiver for your phone.

Love this idea, especially because I have a few Bluetooth speakers gathering dust in a drawer. The speaker to connect to the Echo Input doesn't have to be fancy, so what I have already will be perfect.

Echo input lets you use your favorite speakers which is my main reason for buying also the price is even better. So far I love it and really need a second one since my kids always want to use it.

A perfect choice to convert any speakers or home theatre system that you have at home to be Alexa enabled. I highly recommend it for those don't wish to introduce a new speaker at home.

Made my old Marshall Speaker into a Alexa speaker with this add on. Really easy to install, no brainer if you want to make your speaker smart.

Well, its a Dot w/o the speaker. Super small, and does what a Dot does. If I would change anything, it would be to make the light go around the rim like it does with the Dot.

These devices connect to stereos so you can use those speakers and use the power from the stereo too really crank those tunes you want to hear.

Easy to use. You determine the quality of the sound by choosing your own speaker, I use a JBL Flip 4 and the two work great. I can move around without losing the connection.

Device is a small disc but very solid and feels very well and solidly built. Extremely low power consumption; connected to external phone charger battery it barely drains the battery after hours of use. Presumably because there’s no speaker. I connect to phone hotspot. It comes with standard micro USB power cable and typical aux. cable. So just plug in for power, let it connect to hotspot, plug in aux. cable and done: on commutes short or long it streams any music or news I want on verbal command, no need for visual distraction while driving and car stereo plays it all. Extremely cool addition to the car. For this use case it’s perfect.

This takes up less room and allows you to use your speakers that you already have. I moved my echo dots that I had replaced with the input to areas that I did not have speakers

I bought a few of these and they work great for what they are. I have this one in my son’s room hooked up to some computer speakers.

this gadget comes free with my purchase of the Bose speaker, it complements the user of both. easy to install and use. I've been enjoying using Alexa's voice.

Verry Nice device that I been used just one day .The Echo Input connects to my current speaker via Bluetooth or AUX cable (either works), and after download the Amazon Alexa App ,it could to be controlled by voice, just calls :Alexa !The microphones heard as well as the mics in other Echo devices, even at a distance to say "Alexa" ! I put it into my living room and connect all my smart devices, such as Philip Hue Smart light bulbs. Ecobee and even Dome alarm systems. One Echo, One App, it’s integrated every smart device. Great Amazon Echo ,Great life !
