I would recommend troubleshooting this by swiping down from the top of the screen and navigating to Settings>Device Options> Check for Updates. A software update sometimes is all that is needed to stop any potential bugs like this from occurring. They are absolutely worthless. When I say nothing works right I mean it absolutely nothing works right on this device. Not just this device all Echo shows. It's actually very sad that Amazon has zero clue how to make software. These devices are so capable but unfortunately Amazon completely ruins it with their terrible software. Can't even function as a smart display. When you go to turn a light off, no response. The device constantly freezes up and constantly has to be plugged in and unplugged. When playing music, the music player no longer stays on the screen like it used to. Pretty sad that Amazon can't get their acts together for this device. Never again will I buy another Amazon product
