    Decided between this item and the Skylight Calendar. Ended up with the echo show and it's useful. Sometimes the UI is a little wonky of glitchy. But in the end, it's gets the job done!

    We mainly bought this to track our calendars daily, the fact that Amazon refuses to make the calendar bigger and put it as a screensaver is very disappointing. Instead, they just want to push ads. We’re going back to probably an old iPad.

    The OS is very slow and laggy. Do not recommend. Mount a iPad on the wall instead. I am very disappointed

    I was able to get voice commands to work but touch did not work very well and swiping did not work at all. I watched UTube video on using it but nothing worked. I returned it...very frustrated in my experience.

    This is so incredibly buggy and requires constant restarts. It won't play music while it is in the web browser, which is stupid. I bought it to use in my kitchen so that I could look up recipes and not bring out my laptop and ruin my laptop with food. It doesn't have a split screen where I can have two programs open at once like web browser and music. Even though I defaulted to Spotify, it still plays Amazon music way overpriced for the functionality that you get. Just a huge counter weight.

We value any and all feedback just like yours for us to continue to improve upon our products and services to give customers the best experience possible. While some things you mentioned are in fact limitations of our current feature set (such as dual screen or playback of music during recipe usage) that may be in possible updates in the future, you should definitely not be having the buggy restarts and music playback from the wrong provider issues. You can troubleshoot this a few ways. First, I would check that you are running the most recent software version by swiping down from the top of the screen and navigating to Settings>Device Options>Check for Software Updates. You can also simply say "Alexa, check for updates." As for the music provider issue, I would recommend going to the Alexa Smartphone app on your phone, tapping the More icon (looks like 3 lines) at the bottom, and then tap Music & More, the Settings icon in the top corner, and then linking the correct Spotify account to be used for Default Music, Default Artist Genre Stations, and Default Podcasts. This will ensure that when you ask Alexa to play any music in any way, that it will default to your linked Spotify account. Lastly, if none of these tips help, I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 for further troubleshooting.     Not worth dealing with trying to remove ads and suggested content. With the recent Alexa update, it makes so difficult to locate how to turn off intrusive content. If it was within the return period I would definitely have returned. Terrible waste of money. Should have gone with the Skylight calendar.

In order to assist in hopefully improving upon your experience some, you are able to switch off a number of the items you are referring to in one or two menu locations under Settings. You can swipe down from the top of the screen and then navigate to Settings>Home Content. There you can customize your experience with the toggle of a switch on numerous things that would show on your Home Screen. You can then go to Settings>Display where you can change your photo options for your display. We also make your privacy a major focus by providing you a switch to cover the camera or a Mute button to turn Alexa off from listening for the Wake Word. There are a number of customizable options that come along with the plethora of other features that this device offers that most competing options do not.
