this great for the kitchen to hear the flash news and listen to music, alexa is the best for smart homes as well.

I am an electronic nerd and this thing is okay but could easily be much better. You can watch prime movies on it but it will not show you the full library. you have to know the movie name or ask to see a gernre and it will only show you 20 movies per genra. 99% of everything you do has to be done by voice which is annoying. it has a touch screen let me navigate the device with the touch screen. don't make me speak to it to make it do everything. on the positive the speaker is decent and it is nice to view my arlo cameras on it

I won a Alexa Echo (1st gen) as part of a company holiday raffle and have expanded to 1 show, 4 dots, Alexa thermostat, lights, arlo security cameras, receiver, etc. It's not perfect, Alexa that is but it does save time and it's not a gimmick. I use the Show in the kitchen for recipes, etc. Also can show any security camera or who's at the front door. Kids love to play with the camera. Alexa functions getting better each year and finding new uses.

I purchased the Echo because it collects my shopping and to do lists, and for recipe viewing. But now I use it mostly for having music while I cook. Great addition to the kitchen.

Upgraded to this from the original echo. Video is an excellent addition to Echo's capabilties. I particularly wanted to use this with my home automation and video surveillance systems.

The echo show is great. I can use it to see my ring camera, listen to music, and look for recipes.

WE BOUGHT EACH OF OUR CHILDREN AND MY PARENTS THE 1ST GENERATION ECHO SHOW FOR CHRISTMAS. IT'S A GREAT WAY FOR OUR 8 GRANDCHILDREN, WHO ARE SPREAD OUT ACROSS THE U.S., TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH COUSINS, GRANDPARENTS AND GREAT GRANDPARENTS. HAVING THE KIDS CALL TO SHOW US WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THIER LIVES MAKES THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US SEEM NOT SO FAR. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER FEATURES TO LOVE WITH THE SHOW, BUT THIS ONE HAS BEEN SO REWARDING.

The only thing that would ding this device is the availability of video skills is not so great at this time. The voice recognition is great. The ability is much better than Apple Siri. Less mistakes and better answers and responses over all. Intigrates with more home automation than Siri too. Plus the hands free aspect is great. Along with the show we have some dots placed around the house to have Alexa everywhere to control lights, music, TV, doors, cameras, temp, etc.

I purchased this for my Grandmother to chat with her new grand daughter. Easy to use and works perfect.

We use our Echo Show constantly and have not even scratched the surface of what it is capable of doing. Great for streaming music with the lyrics to most songs.
