I bought this for my husband who is 62. He doesn’t even send texts, but I know he needed an alarm clock and was going to have shoulder surgery in January after Christmas. We connected this to Alexa and a free light bulb was put in two lamps he uses. It works perfectly. He didn’t have to reach up to cut the lamp on and off and hurt his shoulder. He just told Alexa to cut on the lamp with his voice and it works! I wish the screen would let you watch tv! It will connect to your iPhone pictures, it has a few screen savers it will flash all day if you want it to. It shows the weather if you like. You can ask it about your calendar, but it is somewhat limited with this nice fancy screen. It pulls up recipes and pictures too. It will beep and tell you an Amazon package is being delivered and warn you if there is bad weather coming. It’s a good product, but needs to develop more. It has more potential.

I sue the smaller ones mostly as clocks around the house. This larger device makes a great kitchen add on (replaced the echo show in my kitchen). i actually use it for recipes and timers and also to play music or the news while I'm cooking. Happy with my purchase

This was an upgrade from the gen 1 show. I have to say it was so worth it. The sound quality is so much better with the gen 2 and the screen is definitely an improvement. Only complaint I have is the fabric in the back, our first show was in our kitchen so as everyone knows sometimes ingredients or drips tend to happen and with fabric in the back you tend to worry about it soaking stuff in.

I have a three Echo Show devices, and this is the best. Why? It is the biggest. It has the biggest, sharpest screen. The best sound with huge speakers that fill your room with sound, and the best camera for video chat. It's just great. If it's too big, I recommend the Echo Show 5.

I love being in the kitchen then being able to bring up videos on recipes. I know I could do it with an iPad but this is a fraction of what an iPad costs. The screen and sound are out of this world. Lots of base for playing “metal music” to get me going on a cold morning.

I have several of the Alexa devices (kindle, dots, spots, echo, original show) this device is different for 2 reasons, speakers and size of screen. This is a great kitchen companion. The screen is large enough to view from across the room. Before adding an ingredient to a dish, you can confirm the measurement without walking away from the stove, bowl, mixer e.t.c. It has great speakers so you can fill the room with sound as you prepare your gourmet dish. I am hesitant about putting it in the bedroom, video calling :). When I purchased my show, Amazon offered a free smart light bulb. I wish they would bring back that offer. Not that I would buy another show, but it might help others purchase one, if they were considering having a smart home. The new Echo Show 2 is a must to have!

I have been impressed with this Echo Show. Works very well and has a very nice screen. Easy to set up and operate. I mainly bought it for my mom, who is in her 80's and she is loving it. She uses it every morning to play music while she has breakfast. Give it a try.

I bought this so I can video chat with my Dad and friends back home in Michigan. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. For some reason Alexa seems to misunderstand me more on this than she does on any other device, but other than that, I love it. I haven’t bought a tv yet, so I’ve been watching movies on it in bed at night. You can set it up to show pictures of your choice. I’m glad I bought it.

I love the amazon echo 2nd generation. The speakers work well. Alexa is entertaining. There is one problem that I'm not happy with. I have to unplug it and plug it back in once or twice a day because alexa stops working and drop in wont work on it either. You can say Alexa and the blue light will come on but you can't hear her, but once I unplug it and plug it back in it works fine... It's definitely not an internet issue or a bluetooth issue.

This is a great assistant for the kitchen or garage. I like it for listening to music or watching prime video while I’m cooking. It doesn’t support all streaming services yet, and can be tricky to browse to long urls, but has great sound.

We upgraded to this model from the Echo spot and wow what a difference! We can see the screen from any location in the kitchen and can even watch Hulu directly from the Echo. FaceTime is so clear and the ease of following recipes is a breeze! Very satisfied with this purchase!Sun

The Echo Show has a nice, bright, large screen that makes viewing from a distance easy and the speakers are clear and crisp. So far have only set up lighting system and used the alarms and timers. Next, on to a thermostat and irrigation system controls. Performs as expected.

What a step up from the dot. Love the picture quality and the sound is impressive as well. So easy to setup and use by making simple verbal requests that visiting family and friends can use it right away. Purchased with a discounted package including smart bulb. Make sure to grab the HUE bridge as well so you can setup verbal control of many other gadgets. Would be nice if we could see our cable channels as well so I could toss the kitchen tv.

Love it. Good speakers, easy to use, the intercom system is a convenience , like the shape of it and The picture quality is excellent The negative is the limitation of apps you can use on this device such as you can only use Netflix

We've used Alexa enabled devices for some time now but hesitated on making an upgrade to the new version. How wrong I was, the bigger screen is awesome, the sound is improved and it picks our commands from across the living room, I think we'll get another one for our kitchen.

Best addition to my kitchen. Love that Alexia walks me through recipes and crafts step by step. Love being able to use hands free calling while I’m busy with other things. This is a great product. Screen is good size, sound is good.

This was bought for us as a gift to video chat with family as its main use. It has great clarity and sound. We also use daily for grocery lists, Amazon account capabilities and to play music while in the kitchen. It's based on Amazon's Alexa search engine so sometimes it can be frustrating that she isn't able to pull up some results like Siri or google home can. It serves us well for its main purpose though to video chat with family hands free.

Love this! Allows me to listen to my music while cooking along with the ability to view and follow a recipe, video chat with my daughter through her Show and view my Ring doorbell for my packages that get delivered and not have to leave the kitchen in the middle of cooking.

Originally purchased 1st gen and before opening it exchanged for gen 2. Subtle differences, but I believe gen 2 to be more robust. Additional speakers may not add much since sound projection has been re designed to rear facing, but I do appreciate more mics and a bigger screen.

I initially considered buying the echo Spot but I’m glad I didn’t and went for the echo Show. The bigger screen and resolution is the best bang for your buck! Not to mention the way better quality of the sound. It’s a home run with this Show. I now have 3 of these ;-)
