But it is fun to play with. In some ways I wish I had gotten the larger screen, but it does what it is supposed to.

The alarms dont work which is has me waking uo so mad i want to take it to the shooting range! Why is there a LOUD beep before the alarm starts? Why does it only play 3 seconds of the song. When you tell off she doesnt listen. It is a teenager! And now im stuck with it because i cant return it. Dont waste your money!

The issues you're describing with the loud beep before the alarm, the song only playing for 3 seconds, and Alexa not responding to your commands are definitely not normal behavior. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:
Alarm Settings: Open the Alexa app, go to Devices > Echo & Alexa > your Echo Show 5 > Sounds, and check your alarm sound settings. You can also try setting a new alarm directly through the app to see if that resolves the playback issue.
Voice Recognition: Go to Settings on your Echo Show 5 > Device Options > Wake Word, and retrain Alexa to recognize your voice. Sometimes recalibration helps with responsiveness.
Software Update: Check if your device needs a software update by going to Settings > Device Options > Check for Software Updates.

The screen is sort of too small to be very functional. I bought it as part of a set with a blink doorbell and camera. The doorbell does ring on the Echo Show, which is helpful. I still haven’t figured out how to see the video of the Blink products on the Show, but I also haven’t tried very hard. I got the display to show artwork and weather with minimal ads, but the device feels more like an Amazon advertisement than it does a functional AI assistant. If I have Prime and already purchased the device, I really don’t want anymore advertising. I know it seems like not a big deal, but the overall aesthetic of the screen and features is an eyesore. Maybe there will be an update, but without one I probably won’t keep it very long.

Posted .Hi LightsaberMario, thank you for providing feedback for the Amazon Echo Show 5. Here are the steps to connect your Blink cameras to Alexa:
1. Open the Blink app and tap Settings.
2. Tap Account and Privacy.
3. Tap Alexa.
4. Tap the Open Alexa App button.
5. Tap ENABLE TO USE on the Blink SmartHome screen.
6. On the Link Account screen, enter the email address and password associated with your Blink account. Then tap Continue.
7. Enter the verification code sent to the mobile phone number associated with your Blink account.
Then, tap Verify Code. If you do not receive a verification code within 2 minutes, tap Resend Code.
After you successfully verify your account, you can Close the screen to navigate back to the Alexa app to enable the skill. From there, you'll be able to ask Alexa to show you your Blink camera. In regards to advertisements, there are advertising settings that can be accessed directly from the Alexa app, Echo Show devices, or online at Alexa Privacy Settings. These settings make it easy for you to manage advertising in your Alexa experience by choosing if you want to see or hear interest-based ads on your Alexa—from both third-party Alexa skills and content providers and, from Amazon. There are experiences with Alexa, such as streaming music or the display on an Echo Show screen, that include ads. If you use these controls to choose not to receive interest-based ads, you will still see or hear ads on Alexa-enabled devices, but they may be less relevant to you.
