Connectivity and performance problems can sometimes be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps:
Check your Wi-Fi connection: Ensure your Echo Show 5 is within good range of your router and try restarting your router
Restart your device: Unplug the Echo Show 5 for 30 seconds, then plug it back in
Check for software updates: Go to Settings > Device Options > Check for Software Updates
Factory reset if needed: Settings > Device Options > Reset to Factory Defaults (this will erase your settings, so use as a last resort)
If you've already tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, I'd recommend reaching out to Amazon's customer support team 24/7 at 1 888-280-4331 They can help troubleshoot further or discuss replacement options if there's a hardware issue.
If you're within Best Buy's return window and would prefer to return it, they should be able to help you process that as well.

A very midrange attempt at a product… do better

It’s a new 3rd gen product so there should be little to no lag. There’s advertising pop ups that are annoying. I bought it for ring cam integration but it works on and off. It’s definitely not worth it unless you just want an Alexa speaker with ability to show pictures or weather and time.

The Echo Show 5 features a compact 5.5" display, which is designed for smaller spaces like nightstands, desks, or kitchen counters. I understand this may be smaller than what you were looking for. If you're seeking a larger display, you might want to consider the Echo Show 8 with its 8" screen which offers more viewing area while still providing all the great Alexa features.
Regarding the stand, the Echo Show 5 does come with a built-in stand that allows it to sit on flat surfaces, but if you're looking for an adjustable stand for better positioning and viewing angles, those are indeed sold separately as accessories.
Since you're planning to return it for a better option, I hope you find an Echo Show model that better fits your needs.
