Lots of devices can be run by Alexa. Have no real issues. You will need the app to work with the box during setup and adding peripheral devices

Help to reminder her of important dates and play her favorite music just by her talking to it, not to mention she can drop inn on me or any other family member show anytime.

Even if you go through every menu and disable all the suggestion settings, the ads still appear. It’s especially frustrating because there’s no option to keep the display fixed on something simple, like a clock face or personal photo slideshow; it constantly cycles through content you didn’t ask for. Secondly, it tends to be sluggish and unresponsive. For a device that sits in your home and is supposed to feel personal, this feels intrusive and unnecessary. Because of these limitations, I ended up switching to the Google Nest Hub instead, and I love it. It works much better as a dedicated clock or photo frame without the distraction of constant ads and forced content. If you’re mainly looking for a smart display that can double as a clean clock or photo frame, the Echo Show is no longer a good option.

It’s a new 3rd gen product so there should be little to no lag. There’s advertising pop ups that are annoying. I bought it for ring cam integration but it works on and off. It’s definitely not worth it unless you just want an Alexa speaker with ability to show pictures or weather and time.

I understand your frustration that Alexa isn't responding as well as it did on your older Echo Show 5. This is concerning since the newest model is designed with improved features including 2x the bass and clearer sound, which should enhance the overall experience including voice recognition. Only 3 apps allowed. Definitely not what I thought it would be like. I would just pay more for the flat screen one that is more like a hub.
