This Alexa screen is of great value. It was easy to setup and connect with my front door camera. I can also FaceTime family and friends with it which is nice because I don’t have to hold it and I can keep doing my things. I put mine on my nightstand and was worried it would be too bright at night but it dims when it is nighttime and does not bother at all, trust me I am picky about light when I sleep.

I have a 8" show and decided to get this 5" one to place next to the bed. There are a couple of features on this one I like better for next to the bed. It's smaller so it doesn't take up as much room and the clock display has larger numbers to easily see without glasses on. It dims down really nice so it's not too bright when it gets dark in the room. All the other Echo features with Alexa work the same.

The Show looks nice, good display. I like the autodim feature at night. I do wish that some more of the features were available from the touch screen rather than having to ask Alexa to do them (sometimes if my wife is asleep, I don't want to speak to Alexa to have alexa speak to me). On that note, I do like that there is a physical switch that covers the camera, but there isn't really anyway to shut off the listening aspect, and given some of the recent reports of human transcription being done in Ireland (I don't recall if was Amazon or Apple), it is a bit disconcerting. The nice thing is that a lot of new features should be able to be added by software updates from Amazon.

I’ve had this device for around 3 months and I must say it’s great! I use it everyday for hearing Spotify and controlling my lights around the house. The drop in feature is specially useful each time I want to check on my cat from anywhere, whenever I am on the go. I can see her while I’m at work, outside or even whenever I’m on vacations. Not the best speakers and small screen size. But I don’t use it much for video watching so I don’t mind.

Impressive sound quality. It’s my first Echo with a display and its definitely a welcome addition. It replaced our bedroom echo dot and it’s been great on the night stand - convenient access to today’s weather and schedule without having to ask, and the same convenient access to our morning podcast, but with much better audio quality. The night auto dim works well and is appreciated, especially by my wife who is more sensitive to light while sleeping.

Bought the 5 inch because I wanted it for my end table , I love it easy to set it up

My nightstand has a new companion, the Echo Show 5. I was using the spot, but because of the small screen size, I wanted a larger display that would do more. The Show 5 has done just that. From watching Youtube and Prime Video, to just having a clock. I like how much real-estate the screen has. I have the digital clock with the date and weather all on one page. I use my own photo's as its background. Overall I think it's an upgrade over the spot, which was moved to my office. If you want a new clock for your nightstand or something to play music or just to watch multiple sources of video, the Show 5 is for you.
