Issues picking up existing settings / skills

We purchased this to replace an echo that we use to operate lights. My thoughts are that once this is configured to the account it should recognize the previous setup. Not the case. Adding this device messed up the lighting configuration (we didn’t change it as I’m sure people reading might assume). And no matter what I did it wouldn’t deal with the lights properly. Unplugged it and plugged the old echo in and was able to easily fix the lighting configuration. Took this thing back. Until Amazon can ensure seamless addition or replacement of devices (ensuring they work the same without a ton of reconfiguration) I will hold off on getting one of these (hue lights by the way that are connected through their own hub - and yes the skill was enabled etc and all Amazon troubleshooting was performed).
