Screen is cool but not on this device

I used to be able to have it search for different things (random questions, news updates, weather ect), but now it only seems capable of playing music or selling amazon products. I prefer my screen-less cheap google home over this amazon promoting product any day.

It is so complicated trying to set it up to my account. My husband has it connected to his phone but since we have different prime accounts I can't connect my phone expect by using bluetooth. not an easy set up.
